DZ-LCFC Posted 9 July 2025 Posted 9 July 2025 talkSPORT understands that Cifuentes stands to earn less at the King Power Stadium than what he was on at QPR. 1 1

Chico1958 Posted 9 July 2025 Posted 9 July 2025 He's Free ............... If he want's to take up the challenge I'm Happy Just hope he knows he's coming to a Madhouse that's Full of Clowns TO ME CLOWNS AREN'T FUNNY. IN FACT, THEY'RE KIND OF SCARY. I'VE WONDERED WHERE THIS STARTED AND I THINK IT GOES BACK TO THE TIME I WENT TO THE CIRCUS AND A CLOWN KILLED MY CLUB

Whilst I desperately wish we had the operating model of a better club, we're still tinpot enough to expect a manager to do everything. I may be being extremely condescending towards Sandefjord, AaB and Hammarby but I imagine a manager has to be an actual manager at their level. At the end of the day, the most important part for us is how well each of these guys can coach the squad and get a reaction out of them and frankly you might as well flip a coin. Cifuentes' football matches Top's vision more than Rohl's, that's about it. I'd probably slightly prefer Rohl but I'd be content with either. That is a fair point actually, we are not Bayern Munich or the German national setup that is for sure.

dooflip Posted 9 July 2025 Posted 9 July 2025 Really hope he decided to play two really high narrow wingers with a deep striker/false 9 type set up due to our lack of budget. We would be able to fit quite a few of our wingers/technical players in that way. Mavididi or monga down the middle would be sweet.
whoareyaaa Posted 9 July 2025 Posted 9 July 2025 Could help us keep Bilal as well can’t say the same if we was to get Wilder, Gon or Dyche
Bablemikey Posted 9 July 2025 Posted 9 July 2025 On balance I think I'd prefer Rohl, but I could get behind Cifuentes. We are strong enough to be amongst the contenders to go up even with a points deduction. Staying up is nigh on impossible given the spending restrictions that promoted clubs have though, thanks to PSR.

He took over Ainsworth who had QPR in an awful position and they finished well. I'm not saying he's perfect but he's definitely more attractive than Wilder and GON No he was managing “QPR boss Marti Cifuentes made a double substitution at half-time, sending on striker Michael Frey and playmaker Ilias Chair” If you are gonna highlight a Leeds result, then maybe highlight the bad too. As for he is more attractive proposition than O’Neil, he hasn’t managed in the Prem and it’s a whole another ball game. Just like Kompany found out. Edited 9 July 2025 by HankMarvin 1

Scotch Posted 9 July 2025 Posted 9 July 2025 I just hope Dufkin and Top are open and honest with him. There is nothing wrong with telling him up front "there won't be much money, you might be able to spend on one or two but for the most part, it will be free transfers and loans." I don't think it will chase him away and everyone knows where they stand.

kingfox Posted 9 July 2025 Posted 9 July 2025 Few elements of his management style written here https://therealefl.co.uk/2025/05/23/why-qpr-boss-marti-cifuentes-could-be-the-premier-leagues-next-big-manager/ 1 1
Kitchandro Posted 9 July 2025 Posted 9 July 2025 I can’t say this excites me, but it makes me a lot less angry than the idea of O’Neill, Wilder, Martin and Dyche. And that’s purely because I don’t know how good or crap he is. If our club was reliable and thoughtful about hiring managers I would be more optimistic that they’d really done due diligence. But I’m more inclined to believe he’s being hired because he’s cheap and recently managed in the division. Since everyone on here believes we should walk the league with the squad we’ve got, I won’t be expecting a load of excuses for this guy if we struggle. I’m not nearly as confident, but as always I just want to see a manager play positively and bring some enjoyment to watching football, which we haven’t had a commitment to for a long time.
winteriscoming Posted 9 July 2025 Posted 9 July 2025 I can see a similar thing with Rohl that it won’t be clear cut getting him. Would be interesting to know why West Brom didn’t get him.
