£20k a week or less for a manager is extremely low mind you, but hopefully a sign of our intentions with the playing squad too.

£20k a week is a low end premier league manager / higher championship wage is it not?

From what I’ve seen a couple of premier league managers were earning around £1m per year.

Letting Vardy go was always a good indication we were going to start cutting our cloth.

Once we have a new man inplace it will be interesting to see what we do in the market.

I wonder if the intention is to keep hold of our assets, like El Khannouss and Hermansen, boost the squad with the likes of Nelson, Alves and Monga.

Only buy if we can move on some dead wood.

Ideally, for me, we sell Hermansen to fund signings, topped up by a few bob for Faes, Soumare, etc etc?

I might even look forward to a new season if we keep Bilal and have a promising manager keen to work with our academy graduates.

We need to shift more than we bring in. There are some crap players on very big money, such as Faes and Soumare, who can and should easily be replaced by either academy products (Nelson is the obvious one for Faes) as well as utilising the bargain-laden  Nordic market that Cifuentes is so familiar with.

You'd think we would be an attractive prospect for some PL loans

Agreed we should be looking at the best young talent in the prem on loan. Ipswich looking at guiu from Chelsea. Maybe hijack that deal etc.

On Board a bit more now. Worked his way up, started managing at 30/31, similar trajectory as Potter, done reasonably well at QPR. A bit worried how it ended there. Just hope we back him with a few signings.

They will have only taken down the betting overnight, because as there’s a clear front runner and in case something leaks tonight or early morning.

Managers of relegated PL clubs would be comfortably £1-2m IMO.

Tbh I find this a positive, we need to get back to people wanting to come here because they want to be here rather than collecting a nice pay check.

Also positive from a PSR perspective, now just got to get Rudkin agreeing on transfer fee’s.
