I really like how modest he is when we get a good result it’s always about the players. When interviewed about subs tactics that went well he never lets it be about him. Clearly great man manager loved it yesterday at the end when his name was being sung he was pointing at the players. Seems very grounded does not go over board about wins or losses and not afraid to say when we could do better. Tactically astute a cut above the last few managers. Hopefully we will avoid relegation and see what he could do with a pre season.

Expect him to become one of our longest serving managers (not hard recently).

Prediction...

25-26 - Playoffs, miss promotion at Wembley

26-27 - Promotion in 2nd place
27-28 - 16th, just avoid relegation

28-29 - Cup win, top 12 finish

29-30 - sacked after being in bottom 3 at xmas

I'd take that.  We would all take that.  I like your optimism Mr Oz!

This is going to be far from a walk in the park, the landscape is very different from when Enzo took over, yes we had to sell players but we had a premier league squad and were also able to invest in new signings, this season we have come down with a weaker squad and the feeling a number of players have checked out or want out including Vesty, VK, Faes, Coady, Winks, Soumare, Ndidi, Daka and possibly even Riccy P and Ayew who both indicated at the end of last season it was potentially time for a different project.

That is potentially 10 players, most that as fans we would be happy to see the back of but highlights that if they hang around, it’s not going to be HMS piss the league by any stretch plus add in Mads and Bilal who will most likely to be sold to balance off this seasons PSR and provide some sort of transfer kitty, this is a very different position to last time.

However we do have a blossoming academy that is producing a group of very talented players just at the perfect time and it seems in Cifuentes we have appointed a manager who is not afraid to blood and put his faith in younger players, we desperately need to clear the decks and give Marti and his team a clean slate to build a squad in the image of they want to play.

I can see him having a similar impact as Pearson, coming in when the club is on its arse and clearing out lots of deadwood and reshaping the squad and culture back into a professional and winning environment.

There isn't much difference between this squad and the last squad we had in the championship currently other than Vardy and KDH.

But we have the like of El Khannouss, Ayew, Alves, and Monga in it.

You also can't predict who checked out or not, a new manager can changes that.

You also guess we have nothing to spend.

Personally think you have to judge the squad after the 1st of September when you know about all the out goings and any incoming.

As it stands we still have one of the best squads in the league.

Striker is what worries me.

Last time down, we switched between Vardy, Nacho, Daka and Cannon.

3 of those have gone and we're not getting through 46 games with Daka...

I would say it's our biggest weakness currently.

Very positive messages from a QPR supporting friend. Really rated him and her favourite ever QPR manager (she’s been supporting for 30 or so years). Says he seems really nice and bleeds football. Is really sad it hasn’t worked out longer term for him there.

Lets be honest, their recent managers have all been awful so I don't think comparison to "last few managers" is anything to go off.

That doesn't inspire a huge load of confidence, even at Championship level.

2 who are really wide men, 1 who is adaptable, and than Daka who couldn't really score in a brothel in Prague wirh 10 Euros in his back pocket.

We desperately need a striker...

Hopefully he's the right man and does a good job. What's encouraging is QPR fans all seem to rate him highly, and anyone willing to pay half their own compensation to come here deserves our full support! There's a lot that needs sorting because the squad we've got is too big which means the wage bill is too high. And there's a lot of players I really would like to see the back of. Really hope he clears enough space so that some of our academy players get their chance to shine this season.

Have some respect — those are chinos/trousers with a drawstring, not trackies. I suggest you get yourself to a Mediterranean retailer like Mango or Zara and educate yourself.

You can buy those trousers in the Chinese Retailer shops in Benidorm, shorts as well.  Having just come back, I should know.

For a relatively young manager he’s got a fair bit of experience albeit abroad.
He’s also had a season and a bit in the championship.

Better imo than some of the others we were apparently looking at.
I’m certainly willing to give him a chance.

As long as the Club have been honest with the guy and he knows what he's let himself in for, I'm fine.

I want the guy to succeed on his own terms without the Board undermining him
