From a business position it makes complete sense and is actually a good deal. But he was one of the very few who actually gave a crap, and whilst no longer the player he was, still one of the better players in this squad. Had a really, really poor spell last year but it's grossly exaggerated by some. Whether he played or not, that right hand side was completely overrun under multiple managers. Same for him supposedly always turning backwards, it was the same whoever played there because it was clearly instructions from the manager.

Anyway, wish him the best but hopefully we can shift VK and then get Aluko involved at full back

Agree absolutely with that. My money is on him improving at Leeds as we have had 4 consecutive crap managers (counting the last 2 years of Rodgers' reign) and have a squad that has deteriorated massively over that period.   ... how many of our current squad, or recently departed players, have avoided stagnation during that period?

I think that the FB priority to get rid of was VK rather than JJ, but maybe VK's wanted by nobody.  Hope Aluko steps up when needed and he plugs the gap.

You can add Farke to that list too, not sure he's going to get a rebirth under him.

But he'll get a big portion of German Sausage!

Fully expect Farke will run him into the ground, he'll tear a muscle bundle and be out for months, then do his Achilles on his first match back

Enzo favoured Doyle for most of the season over JJ, although JJ got himself back into contention later in the season following Doyles injury.  Don't think Enzo rated JJ, and i was surprised that Cooper dropped Riccy in favour of JJ + Vic.

Yeah that’s what happens when you tell the club you are open to offers in June. They get a replacement in (Doyle).

For then on Justin, had to fight for his place and he didn’t want to risk anything during in August.

Just something I was told

The priority is to get sell players whom have one year left.

All the best at Leeds, James.

I think you're a solid left-back with a sometimes unhealthy drive forward (leaving your flank exposed).

From the club's perspective, a great transfer. I'm actually starting to get impressed with our strategy. Now, where are the new players to replace the outgoings?

A respected senior pro that I remember cheering the team as they individually returned back of the pitch during his own injury.  Although he's not the same player post injury, I fear we're losing the players that actually gave a shit.

Wish him all the best.

I give a shit but I'd still be a terrible full back for us

Just been talking to a Leeds fan. He asked what JJ was like. I said depends what version turns up. Before I added anything else he replied "we've got the shit one then"

James Justin heaps praise on Daniel Farke with strong Leeds United claim
It was a great, fully deserved moment for Justin late on. He’s been a remarkable asset to the side in recent weeks, stepping in for the injured Jayden Bogle with real reliability.

Defensively, he’s been solid with a number of crucial contributions at Liverpool and Newcastle. But, to get his first goal for Leeds will have felt great.

After the game, he spoke to the media including Adam Pope. In which, he shared that this Leeds dressing room is the easiest he’s ever had to fit into:

Leeds United making Leicester City look foolish on James Justin verdicts
Signed for an initial £8million rising to £10million, it looked as though United had forked out a big fee for the full-back.

We needed cover for both sides of the defence, and Justin provided that. The issue was that he was a few years off his previous peak run of form in the Premier League. Consequently, Leicester City fans were delighted to cash in on a player they were keen to see the back of.

As a result, we held reservations about what to expect from Justin. The results so far from his performances have been outstanding.

His comments to Pope outline what I’ve been thinking too. He needed to get out of a toxic Leicester setup and into a club where he’s going to enjoy his football a lot more. Now, he’s benefitting as a result.

James Justin says it’s the easiest dressing room he’s ever fitted into. Big admirer of Farke’s management. On that point Farke’s name sung by crowd on full time. #LUFC

He looks stronger and fitter.

I’ve said it many times but our players haven’t looked the same since Enzo’s fitness staff went with him.

Under Cifuentes most of the players look knackered once we're about an hour into games.

It was similar under Pooper and Ruud.

One of the first things Ruud said was the players aren’t conditioned how he would’ve liked

In reality he hasnt played that much for them so i wouldn't get too excited. He would still have decent game for us now and again and i think he is a long way odd being first choice.

much as it's hard to condition them during the season (like we were always playing catch up after that disastrous Sousa pre season), their attitudes at being expected to do physical conditioning work that he alluded to was abysmal. Wish he'd just gone full in on detonating the club and putting everything out in the open once it was clear he was done here. The way he was talking December vs what we did in January he was obviously mislead about budgets to recruit.

Don't think anyone was particularly 'keen to see the back' of Justin. He seemed like a good pro and personality in the dressing room, and ultimately was a successful EFL signing for us over the full duration of his time here. We had some outstanding years with him starting at the top end of the prem and breaking into the England set-up, despite him tailing off latterly.

It was more a feeling that his race with Leicester was run, he had a year left, had his fair share of injury issues, and we had a great offer on the table given our PSR predicament. He'll have benefited from the change too. More of a shake hands, wish him well and move on situation.

The reason why its a problem now is because the club didn't invest that money in a new fullback. Instead we're stuck with Luke Thomas.

This is why its hilarious when fans get giddy that certain players we don't like are being sold, we all know they're not getting replaced with new players.

The club is not interested in re-investing.

I think most fans like James Justin, even if his last season with us was, lets be honest, shocking. We conceded a lot of goals due to his errors.

He's better than Thomas, but selling Justin got us a lot of money for one year of his contract and will allow Aluko to get opportunities and develop.

i do find it funny when any & every manager says this about a squad they take over then 2 weeks later after a win they say it's because they re much fitter now...wtf can they do in 2 weeks that makes them go from zero to hero, an extra run up the hill?

Yeah, I was pleasantly surprised we got anything for him. He was atrocious last season, to the point that some of us were giving Luke Thomas undue credit by the point of relegation purely for being on the side that was getting targeted less.

Nothing against the guy, he seems nice enough and he was excellent for us pre-injury, but I'm not really that bothered if he does manage to carve out a career at a slightly higher level than we'll be at for the next while.

The most important factor at the end is, who did we buy to replace him?

JJ was one of our worst players in 24/25, HOWEVER the club has shown that it doesn't adequately replace players.

Luke Thomas makes JJ look like Kyle Walker. Thats the problem, we didn't buy a left back.

I'm all for getting crap players out, but we MUST replace them instead of just thinning out the squad.

One of the things I never understood is why we got rid or let our backroom staff go so easily. With Enzo it felt like we was building from within back room staff etc but its understandable he took his people with him but when NP was here we in my opinion had a good back room team. From  fitness staff to tea room. This is defo not the same lcfc team
