Let's see some width and rotation out wide, we know the wingers can score and our strikers can't. So we should try and get them in better goalscoring positions. Our conventional fullbacks offer nothing aside from Pereira so we might as well try WBs

Thought you’d popped Stol up front then, which probably isn’t a terrible idea.

I like that, we need to try something different and this will get our full backs supporting Fatawu and Mavididi.

Surely this game is a must win now for Marti to survive. He should change things up and go more direct.

He also needs to get the players passing more in forward positions instead of always trying to beat a man.

I remember when we had an injury crisis up front and Steve Walsh was pressed into service as a forward and scored 7 in 7 if memory serves.

Since we have no striker worthy of the name, I reckon we should stick Wout up front.  He's no Walshie but is  at least aggressive and would bamboozle defenders with his eccentricity.   It would have the added benefit of making his defensive howlers a lot less likely.

The more I think about it, the more I think it is worth a try.

I want him completely binned but I'm increasingly convinced Faes is actually a midfielder. He's clearly not a terrible footballer, but he's barely got a defensive bone in his body. Funnily enough it's his defensive deficiencies that put me off playing him in midfield lol

Change the formation.

Our left side is poor, so changing to three centre backs and having Nelson in helps protect it. Kristiansen is better going forward than defending but does have the legs to get up and down the pitch.

Move Ricardo / Fatawu into a fluid formation down the centre / right with one generating space for the other. So people struggle to double up on Fatawu so much.

Winks looks after the ball well and is easily the best option in front of the back three to take control centrally.

James is basically box to box, needs to run beyond the rest of the midfield and forwards to stretch the pitch.

Monga drops into CAM in this system, purely due to the fact he drifts in and out too much on the wing.

Daka will at least press and put pressure on the defence by making runs a generating space for Fatawu, Monga and James, he just can’t finish his dinner currently.

This at least gives us some pace on the counter with people who should be able to move the ball quickly.

This can drop Into a 5-3-2 effectively when out of possession if Ricardo / Fatawu tucking in at RB and Kristiansen at left back, if we wanted to compact the defence.

Subs wise, barring no injuries…..

No way James or Monga last the 90 minutes, so they’ll need changing for Page, Mavididi, Reid etc and dare I say even Soumare or Skipp, this is a major weak area in my opinion.

Ayew is the obvious swap for Daka or maybe  depending how the game goes. I don’t rate Carranza in the slightest and I’d rather see Evans get a spot on the bench and minutes on the pitch.

Ricardo doesn’t last 90 minutes on this formation, so Choudhury comes in and can also cover the RB slow if required, we just lose the emphasis on generating space for Fatawu.

Souttar is the Steve Walsh type forward for me.

I’d be tempted to at least try him for a few games in a behind closed doors fashion to see how he gets on. No idea on the current timeframe for his return though!

Difficult to even pick a decent line up isn’t it. Realistically (so not including the likes of Nelson, Page, Aluko and Evans).

                  Stolarcryk

Ricardo - Okoli - Vestergaard - VK

              James - Winks

       Fatawu - Ayew - Mavididi

                       Daka

This assumes Ramsey is probably out. Monga I think just give him the chance to impact from the bench this week. I think we are putting too much on him as a 16 year old. That said I wouldn’t be against he and Mavididi both in that attacking 3, interchanging and perhaps Ayew up top and drop Daka.

Ayew has the same number of goals and assists as Monga.

It saddens me that as a fanbase we hold our academy players to a higher standard than our senior ones. Monga's performances in recent weeks, which have been uneventful by his standards, are the average game for our experienced players like Ayew and Reid.

We need to give Monga at a minimum the same amount of patience that Ayew and Reid have received, sadly it seems that he has already been deemed not ready after 500 minutes whereas he has been no worse than Ayew and Reid who have racked up 3000 minutes for us.

Lazy of me i stand corrected, honestly thought that Ayew had scored more and we do need to nurture our young talent. I kinda lost my point that academy players should be forcing there way into a good confident squad not replacing underperforming players. And, for me, the managers job is to make young and old tick.

No Ramsey, BDCR probably still out & Page heading out to the U17 W/Cup so it’s Ayew as the 10 / 2nd striker unless he’s going to squeeze Mavi into that position.

If not James will go there which unfortunately means 1 of Soumare or Skipp is back next to Winks.
I feel he needs to switch shape in this 1 we need Winks, James and Ricardo in the centre just to be able to create something in there with Ayew as the 10 / 2nd striker and 3 at the back, attacking back 3 formation not a protecting back 5.

Like when we should have been high on winning the league last time and lost at home 0-1 to these lot. Somehow these jokers manage to put a dampener on the proceedings!

Probably agree, there is precedent for it though, they've beaten Southampton, basically beat Ipswich but had it stolen from them, like with Hull I don't think they're really going to fear us - particularly having won their last two trips here.

They're not 'good' but they're a bit below where they probably ought to be on performances. They're a miserable club themselves, but feel like they'll suit being away more than at home.

Would be worth trying as what we are doing at this minute isn't working, soon as you make subs though it wouldn't be effective

That description could be used for every game in the Championship.

You’ll get your next win at Norwich, as long as all your players face the right way then you’ll win.

Several of our players are actually unsure which way they should be facing. The resulting confusion often leads to them just laying down, instead.
