Glasgow Rangers season ticket holder here. Popped on here as I seen Russel Martin was the fav for your managers job. If you want a bullshitter that talks a good game but in reality his flawed tiki-taka nonsense doesn’t work, who then melts like an ice cream cone under pressure, then blames everything but his methods then go ahead. He is on a different level in regards to failure than any managers have ever had. He took our club to the brink of ruin within 5 months by refusing to adapt or learn on the job which anyone in any profession worth their salt will do. Beware what you wish for lads. Best going for someone with some substance than a twat in a cardigan

Believe me, none of us wish for Martin.   The last time we were between managers, our fans made it clear from the stands that we don't want that 'twat in a cardigan' as you put it.

I think we all breathed a collective sigh of relief when he ended up in Glasgow.

The only trouble is that our owner has a bit of a fetish for his kind of football and also, as a club we have a weird fixation on Southampton cast-offs, so you never know.

Martin getting appointed here would be a new low, in a series of lows, for us.

The hope I have is Top referenced that football has moved on from that style in his interviews and mentioned 'long throws'.

Hope someone has told him about Challinor!

It sounds like Rowett is pitching and being lined up for us? And there are a few social media posts out there, saying the same thing.

I wonder whether Rowett's criticism of 'the management' is a dig at Rudkin and KP, or our Team Manager's?! If the former, he won't be coming, if the latter, I'd say he could be nailed on!

He either knows he's getting the Job, or he knows who is getting the Job from those comments.

I also think Rowett would keep us up and get us challenging for the top 6 if here next season. Maybe we need a steady manager, with old fashioned values, to get the basics right for a year or so.

Boring appointment, but I think if we appointed him not Marti in the summer we wouldn't be 4th fro bottom even with the 6 points.

Why would he have us fighting for top 6 next year? What you are actually describing is a manger that I going to completely rejuvenate us, What has he done to prove this is the case?

It sounds like he’s not been contacted nor does he expect to be. Nothing about that sounded like he was talking about a possible job opportunity

Rowett seems to know something, trying to read if he knows the person whose got the job or he choosing his words carefully whilst he's finalising the deal with the club.

He actually has a fairly solid track record of leaving teams in a much better state than he found them, having done this with Burton, Birmingham, Derby and Millwall. Whether he could replicate this with us is open to debate, but there would be more logic in appointing Rowett than many of the other names linked with us.

Could be that he was spoken to and they’ve given it to someone else and told him, hence his comments …

Probably means nowt but betting suspended on Skybet. They’ve probably given up on us toolol

Not necessarily related but also noticed Skubala has shortened from the last time I looked.

I'm more inclined to believe he doesn't know who we're going to appoint and has made the 'really ambitious' comment simply to imply that we're a big club with big ambitions etc, and he's being deliberately complimentary about us because he's either being considered or would like to be considered.

He'd be a great appointment as Manager. He's clearly a good Coach and has done a great job at Lincoln.

Only 1 place has book open at the minute Bet Victor on odds checker there were 2 others. (sky bet being the other)

Maybe something is pretty imminent then.

Gary Rowett quoting "really ambitious decision"

That points to someone not discussed here or maybe the Lincoln gaffer?

Ole wouldn’t surprise me
