I really do enjoy how quickly he seems to end up forward and not just hanging about on the wings waiting for it to be recycled to him. It’s something different that defences would have to cope with.

As someone alluded to above, it's not the size of a player that's as important as his desire to make a tackle count (as much about technique as brawn) and to win the ball, and also to do something positively and quickly with it ... à la  Kanté. And the young lad in his recent loan spell at Newport , for all his lack of height, appears to be doing v well at winning the ball in midfieldl.

It's just their hypocrisy. Disagreements on players, so be it, I don't agree with them but fair enough. But to slaughter a young player who had a decent game, these are the people who bash you for 'not supporting the team' as well.

Yeah exactly. Mind boggles. I don’t get why people love to rip into literal kids anyway but particularly being those who claim to ‘back the lads’!

This is genuinely insane.

For a second senior start I thought it was a really encouraging performance but perhaps that’s just me.

These people aren’t even worth engaging with. I bet you it’ll be because he got sent off against Southampton. They’ve made their minds up on him because of that.

I bet most of them didn’t watch the Cheltenham game anyway. It wasn’t the most accessible being a small away end and TNT. I can’t imagine these casual fans are the type to have the box to watch all matches. So I tend to agree it is based

on the Southampton game.

Done well today given the circumstances.

Would like to see him get a run of games at RB, his best position. He will only continue to improve.

I'd prefer to see him in a midfield role. He's strong, Quick and confident. With a good touch.

fair play. wasn’t outstanding and I’m probably just desperate for a positive but thought he looked like an actual footballer out there.

I can’t believe he hasn’t had more cameos though.

Thomas, Choudhury and a finished Ricardo consistently being picked over him is criminal really

Can hold his head up high today. Excellent in possession and broke through the lines. He'll be a real asset for us wherever he plays across the back line.

Exactly that, got the team moving up the pitch.

Did well, but not a centre back (lost too many aerial duals). Hope he gets a run of games at right back. Like how he gained confidence after his first run forward which drew a foul and a booking for Dykes.

The fact that he hasn't had more of a look-in this season when we've had Ricardo and Thomas and Hamza, to name just the worst offenders,  barely performing is so damning of our management.  Worrying that King has followed the same pattern with his selections in this game.
