Bit of a sassy reply  must of watched a lot of under 21s then to definitively conclude he's crap and not ready. He's made enough decent cameos for the first team for it to not be as black and white as you're making out.

We wouldn't be throwing him to the wolves if he had some competent players in defence along side him. Nobody would look great along side panicky Souttar, which team do I play for Okoli and Disney Skippy.

 

He and joseph aren't the problem. The 2nd Burton goal he was the only defender that made a real effort to stop the goal.

We need to get him in the side. Thought he looked ok, aggressive and always looking to get forward. He definitely needs to work on his game but he won't get any better sat on the bench.

Not saying he is the problem, if anything I feel sorry for him.  The fact that the senior pros around him can't be arsed is the worst thing about this squad, but me thinking he's not of League 1 quality is independent of all that.

Didn’t really see any howling mistakes from him yesterday ro suggest he’s not ready. Especially compared to the pair at centre back and Luke Thomas consistently getting bullied

You mean the first where he’s caught with two men and both centre backs get dragged in rather than taking one of Aluko’s two men, so he’s caught wrong side

Got good attributes but a little raw.

 

I think you can tell Joseph has played a season and Aluko has only had a few appearances.

 

Joseph has developed a little more and has more positional sense.

 

2,321 minutes of game time in league 2 being a starter, compared to Aluko's 429 minutes which includes yesterday.

 

I'd be give him another 90 in the cup and bring JJ back in for MK dons.

 

But we need to keep giving him minutes.

Personally, i feel is a few levels behind JJ. But right now thats no bad thing as JJ had a loan last season whilst Aluko had to work with our muppets.  But he's still an improvement on our other defenders.

Just keep playing him, prefer an imperfect teenage player that tries to make things happen and tries hard. Doesn’t look like he’s shitting himself like when he touches the ball unlike most of the team - that is a major asset to our squad currently.

Aluko looked good when he was ignoring Skipp and Okoli. The whole team needs to do that. 
 

The mistakes were close to their goal while trying to make something happen. Nothing wrong with that as it’s  positive. That’s better than Thomas who will actively sabotage his own team mates to avoid trying to turn his body to make a pass to Alves. 

 

 I think he will click with Burns.  You would expect Burns to help Aluko

Not his best game but why do a section of our fans always pick on the younger players whilst defending the usual suspects to the hilt.

I think people forget he played only 400 minutes of senior football.

 

The lack of minutes for him and Page last season has really shot us in the foot.

 

One of the pleasing think about yesterday is the manager kept him on for 90 minutes many managers sacrifice the kid after a sending off.

 

Both him and Page need 90 minute Tuesday.

I thought Aluko done ok yesterday, bringing an energy that's so badly lacking in defense. He made a few surging runs forward offering support to the attackers.

 

With more game time he'll kick on and be a good addition to the team.

I thought he looked ok yesterday.  Of the 6 defensive players who were asking to play out from the back I thought he was he best of them - not difficult though when you look who the other 5 are!!!  I think he’s a little raw but will improve with time whereas the rest aren’t getting any better any time soon! I’d switch him to left back when JJ is fit.
