However, what Marti will do, is to play Ayew and Reid and see us offer zero running, as highlighted by the recent Opta stats. Ayew is a hideous CF, Reid doesn’t impact enough of our overall game. Why hasn’t any manager since Enzo come in and tried the two “high 8”s? We have an automatic pick in JJ, it would then mean with our CF and two wingers, we would be a lot more balanced, both attacking and defensively. That would likely also suit Page I would think. With what we have, Monga/Mav - Daka? - Fatawu Page - Skipp - James New striker needed of course. If we could actually sort the defence out, that with a new striker has to be pretty good at that level.

Striker and left back are much more important. With Ricardo out of contract in the summer Bade will have a role to play next season. I think it’s too early to throw him straight in so would get him some game time elsewhere whilst we navigate the rest of this season

But we don’t want to go signing some duffer on a 4/5 year deal in a position we have 2 good talents coming through. There’s also Coulibaly. It’d make more sense to bring him back and share the load with Ricardo if it was a case of getting Aluko a loan. But we don’t really have anything to play for now this season (unless a points deduction does come and puts us in trouble) so I’d just give Aluko regular rotation with Ricardo to be fair. With the view to being first choice next season hopefully.

RB should be high up the list of priorities in Jan, if we get one in we should loan Bade out. He’s just played 90 minutes where he looked comfortably better than luke Thomas……. And yet we’re sticking with Thomas? Edited 11 January by Pliskin 1

Mickyblueeyes Posted 11 January Posted 11 January Beat them and they’re in full crisis mode (not really but that is how the media will spin it and it will be great). Lose to them, Frank does the fist pump crap live ok sky. Of course we have to beat them 2

I’m not a fan of right footed players playing leftback. In an ideal world we go into next season with Aluko alongside a new right back and two new left backs.

Neither am I, but the reality is Aluko offers more than Thomas, he may get caught out defensively, because he likes to he forward, but, Thomas gets caught out game game out, and he doesn’t offer anything going forward. So if Aluko offers more, he should play. He played LB in the academy and was very good, plus he’s already got a good relationship with Monga. 1
RonnieTodger Posted 11 January Posted 11 January Hideous afternoon in store. Can’t believe people are paying £45 for the privilege too. Left back is a real worry for this game. If Thomas plays anything like he did at Forest, we’re in big trouble. 2
Leicesterpool Posted 11 January Posted 11 January Doing a double bill of football that day, CBS 12.30 Cov v Leicester then a short bus ride to Bedworth for Nuneaton Boro v Leicester Nivrana for a 3pm kick off. 1

The two high 8s made Enzo's system work in that first half of the season. People don't really talk about it because of his legendary status but Vardy's pressing was non existent by then. We actually were at our most effective when Daka first come in the side that season.
Ric Flair Posted 12 January Posted 12 January Won 2 and drew 1 in our derby games under Cifuentes so far. Avoid defeat in this one and he'll get a rare bit of praise. 1

Tommy Fresh Posted 12 January Posted 12 January Superb effort by those running the club that not getting slapped at Cov would be an okay result 4

Ian S Posted 12 January Posted 12 January Was with some of my Cov supporting friends in the local pub last night and they are quite worried, obviously concerned by the run they are on and they think it’s a great time for us to play them .I allayed any fears they had by explaining how truly horrid we are and let them know if they score early we will fold like a pack of cards. 1

I watched the West Brom game in the pub with a West Brom supporting Friend , Had the same conversation with him waiting waiting fo the game to start. I am slighty more upbeat about this one 1
