The rules in League One are preoccupied with clubs only spending a % of their revenue and not strictly bothered by the profit / loss margin in the same way that matters in the Championship and Premier League. 

 

But we as a club still can't continue to make losses year on year, especially because if we do get promoted back to the Championship we still have to demonstrate an improved financial position over rolling years.

 

Plus, look, even forgetting amortisation - we bought him for 15 to 18ish million pounds, we can't just let him go for half of that. You can't keep pissing away opportunities to generate profit, regardless of what laws you're trying to comply to.

Well considering he still has a book value of £9m I can promise you we won’t sell him for that. I know the clubs a mess and it’s depressing to support the club currently but at least do some research before just stating negative comments that are well off the mark.

 

With regards to Fatawu’s value, at the beginning of the season many believed his value was £30m. He followed that up with 16 G/A in 44 games. Better than one goal contribution every 3 games in a relegated side. Add to that he’s 22 years old and capable of changing a game in a heartbeat (rare trait to have).

 

£15-£20m is incredibly discounted price for him already and I would be shocked if multiple top European clubs are not sniffing around at that price.
 

let’s not undervalue our top talent regardless of league. I expect we will get around £18m and hopefully a sell on clause included.

I am with you I think that is a fair estimation, there is a lot of talk of a 'fire sale' now we are in league one, but we could still quite easily hold firm on Abdul. 

 

I have seen Leipzig are sniffing as it is likely one of Yan Diomande or Antonio Nusa will be moving on this summer so they want someone they can bring in with the potential to flip for a profit. Would sooner see that than him with another english club

Must be sold. At the very least 22 million plus a cut of future sales to a Top 5 club in the PL, Serie A, La Liga, Ligue 1, Bundesliga. He's unpredictable and may either fall off the map or become a top winger, depending on the manager and the teammates. Also, let's not forget that he's already had a torn ACL, which may re-occur at any moment...or not.

Whats the record for a League One player or a player from a relegated Championship club at least.

 

I think £15m could be the max we get which is disgusting given we'd not have taken double that last summer.

Depends if the club want to grab the cash quick or gamble on him doing well at the world cup to drive his price up.

The very fact that he had a torn ACL & that he is unpredictable, means we will get nowhere near 'at the very least 22 million' , plus add-ons. (I assume Pounds).

 

I'd imagine we'd get about £7-10m & a 4 pack of Guinness.

How about this: June 23 Ghana is playing England. If he scores or gets a memorable assist, his value goes up noticeably. Until then...if I'm him, I become very selective of the ghanian pussy that opens its welcome doors to my LCFC cash and focus real hard on training.

There are a lot of clubs with deep pockets interested. I imagine we'll get a good fee for him, as we should be able to create a bidding war.

Do we recon they will class BEK's transfer as the new record when that goes through?
