Mike Ashley would run this football club much better than the current owners would, weird that you think that it's a negative. We wouldn't have a points deduction or a threat of one every season if we had Ashley running the show.

A slap in the face is better than a punch in the bollocks, it doesn't mean I'd welcome it. How are we at the point where we're looking at Mike ****ing Ashley and thinking he'd be a good owner?

Under Top, we're likely to not have a football club in 5 years time.

This would never happen under Mike Ashley, he wouldn't allow the business to be ran that way.

Does anyone know the odds before the season started of us getting relegated? Not quite 5000/1 I'd imagine.....

7/1...the likes of Hull were 3/1

This is what's funny about how much we laud our owners. What about how Mike Ashley ran Newcastle would have stopped us doing what we did?

We didn't go for it when we first went up. We got Ulloa for £8m and free signings. I haven't even checked to know Newcastle would have spent more than that. We signed Ryan Bennett on loan when going for the Champions League!

Now, this isn't me wanting Mike Ashley. But this idea that our success could never have happened with anyone else needs to stop. I think it's impossible for anyone to say he'd be worse than Top.

What I was saying was the way we currently are there's no point buying us unless we enter administration, we are not that an attractive proposition.

I have no issue with Ashley, he has a good business head on him.  He's had protests against him at every club he's been involved in though

League 1 with either end the club, administration or end up like Reading/Bolton.

Relegation won't be good whatever the outcome. I'm really worried that, with debts mounting and at the levels they are reported at, we won't have a club to support. King Power Stadium will be one of those derelict buildings warning others what happens when you mismanage a club

And Top and Rudkin will be forever remembered as the people who killed a premier league title winner.

Top has very little to do with that and Rudkin hadn’t been in the role very long at all

Just a thought.

If the Manchester City decision is imminent and happens this season. If they get relegated to the Championship or even League One as punishment.

Does that mean that each league would only need to relegated two places and not three?

Also whoever finishes 3rd would get automatics in the Championship? With playoffs being 4th to 7th then? As four would need promoting and not three?

No way are Man City getting relegated. All they’ll get is a massive fine and possibly a transfer embargo. The prem is so corrupt they won’t one of the so called big boys dropping like that.

Yeah I reckon if anything happens it will be a 20-40 point deduction, putting Man City just outside the relegation zone, but still too far ahead of those actually in it. They'll then use that to galvanize themselves and win the Champions League or something, meaning all they lose out on is cash from PL finishing position.

They're too much of a commercial draw for the league for the PL to relegate them. And that would be unprecedented anyway. No way would they get it to stick on appeal.

they'd just do a deduction which puts Man City down, so it'd be whoever would have finished 18th without their deduction staying up surely

Sorry Doctor, I was more thinking of they put them into League 1.

You know the level of ****ed we are when our new manager bounce is scoring a couple of times, only to bottle it. That was deemed an improvement at the time.

Painful

10 years to the day we were Champions of England, we'll be relegated to the third tier.

How utterly heartbreaking is that?

I don't even think we'll be close to staying up, to be honest. I don't see the fight and desire that's needed in this 'team'
