He would get my vote as well. He is probably past his best but he knows this league. He is a motivator and can be a nasty bas***d, which is what this lot need. It will not be pretty but we need someone who can get this lot scrapping for their lives. Leave it too much longer and we have had it. The first job is to keep a clean sheet. Makes it much easier to get at least a point out of a game. Edited 7 February by markko 2
Edingleyfox Posted 7 February Posted 7 February Andy King is on a hiding to nothing. I know about PSR but the messages that the squad is good enough is pure complacency. 3
Popular Post BKLFox Posted 7 February Popular Post Posted 7 February What a daft and pointless thread, shall we all start booing him & sing your getting sacked in the morning. Most people with a brain will realise he’s here till we find someone that is all & I for 1 will thank him for it. When we have a thread knocking the club for not arranging a night out for the 5000/1 winners to see fans laying into 1 of those winners because he hasn’t turned us into Man C after 2 weeks kinda puts us in the same category as the club tbh 4 4
Mickyblueeyes Posted 7 February Posted 7 February Anyone calling for “King Out” will probably have Kingy himself telling the dumbasses, he agrees. He is a year and a half into his own apprenticeship at a club close to his heart. Thrown into the cauldron with Adam Sadler and Andrew “I’m a free kick specialist” Hughes as his support. 2
Popular Post Corky Posted 7 February Popular Post Posted 7 February Trusting part of a relegation battle to a man who has never coached a professional match before is very on brand for this place. 6
FoxOnWheels Posted 7 February Posted 7 February This is a ridiculous thread surely a joke? The guys a legend and just doing his best until the club appoint someone. He’s been handicapped by 2 of the stupidiest and earliest red cards you can get 2 1
Chelmofox Posted 7 February Posted 7 February Its like the head of HR being given the interim CEO position at Barclays. He is nowhere near ready. There should have been an experienced interim installed immediately. Its not like King has even managed any of the academy teams. 2
markko Posted 7 February Posted 7 February I feel for AK. I did not want his standing at the club tarnished. It was good to hear his name being sang today. He is not the answer. He has said as much. Please get a manager installed asap and that does not mean mid March. 2

I'd argue Dean Smith has more coaching credentials than either Maresca (prior to his appointment) Van Nistelrooy or Cifuentes and probably at least on a par with Steve Cooper.
Popular Post CarolinaFox Posted 7 February Popular Post Posted 7 February King has been seriously let down by the squad. No one expected him to revolutionize things tactically, but players like Okoli, Ricky P, and BDCR put him in a near no-win situation from the start. Once again, the club’s leadership has left the team exposed. They knew a points deduction was coming, saw that Marti’s results weren’t improving, and still waited far too long to act. A successor should have been identified before Marti was dismissed. Not to mention appointing a new technical director. The delays are baffling. Ultimately, King should not be held responsible for the club’s broader mismanagement. That said, the time has come for him to step aside so the club can appoint a permanent manager and move forward. I'm growing more and more impatient with the lack of a solid link to a managerial candidate. 7
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 7 February Posted 7 February 44 minutes ago, StriderHiryu said: We discussed King a fair bit on Blue Tinted Glasses at full time and the guys will be covering him tomorrow too. I think you could criticise him for not making changes fast enough, Birmingham made a tripple sub and scored shortly therafter, with our players tired because of having to cover so much ground (though Winks should not have been as tired as the others). But at the end of the day he's been completely let down. Ricardo in particular who is supposed to be the Captain with an absolute brain fart was criminal. I think this is a case of damned if you do, damned if you don’t. The two obvious changes were going to be Daka and Fawatu for Ayew and one other (Richards or Mukasa). But equally, you don’t want to upset the shape, discipline focus and rhythm that’s got you to the 65th minute without conceding so far (and you probably want a bit of time to assess what Birmingham’s changes on the 63rd minute have done). And of course you keep Fawatu on as long as you can just in case he conjures up something unbelievable again - and you are probably not that enthused at having to put Ayew on. So you know, as the manager defending in that situation, you are probably wanting to get just a touch beyond on the 70th minute before making your changes if you can - to try and provide that mental boost for the final 20 minutes. 2
PingCower Posted 7 February Posted 7 February This is the abyss/ordeal stage of the hero’s journey. It will make him stronger in the long run. 1
suffolk fox Posted 7 February Posted 7 February Actually feel sorry for King he has been left out to hang by Rudkin n Top. He has no managerial experience absolutely none he cant help it that Ricardo has a brain fart in 3 minutes ffs That said we need someone to come in and manage. If its left to the seasons end we are down Even before the sending off we are toothless in attack.

Rubbersoul Posted 7 February Posted 7 February Of course he isn’t the answer but he’s been absolutely shafted by two idiots so far. He even said himself he’s just helping out 4

Nothing has improved at any level from fitness, attitude, tactics to application. I’ve been hard on King as he’s been around the dross on the way down so is part of it. He needs a fresh start and to learn the basics somewhere with less chaos
Kitchandro Posted 7 February Posted 7 February I’m sure this thread was a parody but it’s difficult to tell on the internet. We do need a proper manager though. 2
FoxinNotts Posted 7 February Posted 7 February Stupid thread. King is and will be a good coach. He's also a club legend. We now need a manager for the trenches.
funkyrobot Posted 7 February Posted 7 February (edited) Need to change this Thread to ‘King - Interim Manager’ not ‘King Out’ ffs. The lad is a legend and he’s going a job that’s been forced on him and you know he’s doing his best. Unlucky today with a silly tackle but a very harsh red. What I would say though is I wasn’t sure about the half time sub. Mavididi was one of our better players in the first half. The substitution made us lob sided and took away a threat that allowed Brum to pile on even more pressure. A defensive decision when we’ve shown all season that we can’t defend. Popular Post iancognito Posted 7 February Popular Post Posted 7 February Lock this thread, it started as a pisstake but has attracted some real clown comments. Two games ruined by two dumb sending offs as if his job wasnt hard enough he's doing it for about 130 minutes with 10 men (9 if you count Daka). Even if he's in til May he has my backing 100% just for having the b0ll0cks to try and get a tune from this bunch of cretins. 5
