Sounds like eventual team would be as below if we haven't got this young striker Richards in. We can't be wanting James and Mukasa to play triangles with Ayew so must be thinking Mukasa will play further up?

Stolarzcyk

Ricardo Lascelles Nelson Aluko

Winks James

Fatawu Page Mavididi

Mukasa

Skipp in for page all day long

Depends what you're after?

Skipp is a good 6, he isn't a good 8/10. He won't find that final pass or carry the ball, but he'll break play up and be a little shit to play against. Whereas Page always wants the ball and can carry it well

not at a high level but the lad has some technical ability

Notice all of his touches are turn and forward pass, he'll need to adapt with us pretty quickly to not turn... and backward or sideways pass instead.

Lovely left foot

Big test Glover. He’s been very hit and miss here. Although, credit due, he’s got the odd gem.

4 signings. We know Aribo and not overly impressed with that but Lascelles and more importantly, the two on loan are very intriguing.

He’s had a knack of unearthing young talent. Has done it here at times. Did it at Southampton.

Seen these highlight reels of incoming players year after year (Kaebi, Amartey etc) and then when we see them play its more like this

In fairness, there's quite a lot of YouTube video of Man City's u19s. In particular, their European campaigns. There's a lot of just simple match videos out there you can watch of him without it being cropped to make him look like Pele. He does look good, he's probably one of their main stand outs, especially when they play him at 10. Gets involved in everything, links up most of their attack.

Something we've really missed since Bilal left. I don't hate BDCR actually, I think he's done a good job but he's more a support striker than an actual playmaker when he's at 10.

Anyone who plays behind Ayew has their work cut out, he just suffocate their space.

Yeah 100%. He's always where he shouldn't be and never where he should. The only position we should ever play him, if at all, is the wing.

He's clueless anywhere else.

The joke was if he's as good as the Divine Moussaka I had in Corfu in the summer we might finish 17th .

Or something similar.

Old Wasyl has come steaming in and not got the ball as usual and ruined it for everyone.

Don’t recall Kaebi (one tackle on Figo) or Amartey (one sprint of the pitch) being anything like the video of Mukasa TBF

My point was meant to be a more general one about exercising caution regarding specific player compilations but nonetheless my recollection is that the reels posted on here for those players contained more apparent positives than you've described above and which gave grounds for greater optimism than their eventual performances warranted

Anyway, here is one for Aribo

Yeah but that was an all-time great sprint from Amartey

Has he unearthed Richards and Mukasa, surely their clubs did that??

Doesn't that logic apply to every single transfer on the planet then? Since somebody is always the first to 'unearth' a player?
