The annoying thing will be if Rowett keeps us up in my opinion he should get the job, to be honest if he shows significant progress he should probably also get the job.

What I fear is bringing in a Man City sporting director shows that at the first opportunity we will be bringing in another soft as **** tippy tappy clown manager. Something no one has asked for and the reason we are so shit. We are not Man City, we are never going to be Man City, we will never have players good enough to play like Man City.

I agree our time of being able to take a bit of a punt on someone like Maresca or Ruud has gone and do hope we keep him in place for next season. I think his job will be easier in the sense that a lot of fans are back to reality.

Absolutely not.

Much better managers will be available in the summer.

Why recruit a Technical Director if he's unable to bring his own head coach in?

We as a fanbase constantly bemoan our ownership for thinking short-term and making impulsive decisions, we should be relieved that Rowett is only on a 6 month contract and won't be extended.

It depends I think. I do understand the point. But, why hire a technical director who wants to play like Man City, when we don't have the players to do it, nor should we try to play that way. Let's have a manager who can actually manage, and motivate, and instil discipline first of all. Sick of hearing about philosophies (not aimed at your post) when the basics have been missing for so long, and that starts from the ground up, not top down, in my opinion.

I wouldn’t say it’s unwarranted but certainly yes, Vesty is both a better defender and footballer than Okoli.

EDIT: I think most were just fed up of Faes and Vesty playing below par and thought Okoli would excel and develop in the championship.

He was highly rated and performed well at Atalanta in a 3.

It just goes to show how poor how recruitment has been when we scout and sign a player who is better in a 3 and is a bombscare in possession and we sign him to play in a flat back 4 and a team trying to play like Man City …….and we wonder why we are in the mess we are in 🤣

Find it bizarre we won the league playing some of the most exciting football on the break. 30-40% possession. Why that couldn't stay as our signature way of playing I dont know.

how did we do the following season where more teams camped in against us? your answer is in there - can't break against low blocks

We didn't try and play the same way the next season and we didn't have Kante.

Ranieri completely and utterly lost the plot and despite the bullshit about him not deserving the sack, he absolutely did.

we tried to, but again - can't play effective counters when teams don't commit as much against you. Ranieri tried to do a like for like replacement between Kante and Amartey as a mobile player who liked a tackle. That this is like replacing a Bugatti with a reliant robin because "they're both cars" is what did for him.

Looks like that dad at the school gate who doesn’t look like anything at all and you’re sure isn’t as clever as you but works offshore and earns £100k a year and everyone seems to like him more than you. For that reason it’s a no from me.

What annoyed me is the subsequent a years after. It become such a lazy analysis for years that when Vardy didn't have space in behind he doesn't score and when he does, he does.

No one even bothered updating their punditry notes on us for a decade.

Really loved that season, our counters were brilliant.

Really want a manager to to be successful enough to be around for 2 to 3 years.

I know he not everyones cup of tea but I'd like someone just to stop the merry go round of looking for a manager.

Since 22/23 we have had Rodgers, Smith, Maresca, Cooper, RVN and Marti.

I hope it works out for him

I can see the potential, whether we stay up or relegated I think he could be the best person that we have in charge. His managerial record is steady, defensive minded which is something that we’ve been awful with for years, previous connection to the club and feels as if he’s got a bit of shithousery/no nonsense about him

We all know that whoever takes over was going to be dealt a shit pack of cards but I think he’s someone given time can help clear out and help rebuild

It all depends on if the players want to play for him and the fans (and there wages), hopefully they do and he can keep us up.

50/50

Still think up to Charlton are the teams in the mix, not just West Brom.

Clearly got us playing with some passion

Not liking those subs though. Gary, listen to me, this is for your own good: pretend Jordan Ayew doesn't exist. Please. Please.

Well he’s got us fighting if nothing else, still in a very dodgy position but given us hope. Scandalous he could’ve been in weeks ago and we might not even be in quite the mess we’re in.
