When you watch this one back from the angle behind the post you realise he pretty much couldn't. There was a covering defender. We were never scoring there.

I guess the counter to this argument is they missed an open goal and a tap in so swings and roundabouts.

We should have won but a draw is a point gained.

And just for a change the half time team talk gave us posivitey and we found that extra oomph.

We just edged a draw against a poor, out-of-form Stoke.  An opponent who took the piss and put some fat kid with a bowl cut in goal.  We missed two late sitters that traffic cones would have bounced in to win.  And yet I feel optimistic.

 

Because the bar for success has been lowered to 21st in the Champ.

Gutted not to win, but if we replicate that second half consistently then we stay up - simple.

 

Get James back, get Vestergaard or Lascelles back and get Abdul back and the team has enough if coached competently, and I think they will be.

This is a pathetic take. Crowd responded to a better second half performance. Plenty of Rudkin out noise too.

Obviously gutted we've missed those chances at the end to win it. 

 

Our inability to defend crosses and balls into the box and lack of marking still a red flag.

 

Good to see a bit of fight in the second half which we've been badly missing. Whatever Rowett said at half time obviously had an effect.

So many away League games against Stoke(and Brighton), usually always ended up 2-2. 

 

We had opportunities at the end, Okoli having his shirt pulled so firmly you couldn't see a number on his back. It's frustrating. The improvement after the 1st half is a big positive, a good reaction to the new managers HT. Hope that spirit continues into the next games and onwards. Get out of this mess asap.

Horrible to conceed at the death when we did but swings and roundabouts as we've scored a few late ones ourselves to deny the opposition in the days when we weren't losing every game - but we needed that win really, draws in our predicament aren't great. That said hopefully the much improved second half under Rowett will give the lads some collective confidence back as a team rather than the late goal knocking the confidence out of them. Here's hoping - and hopefully it's not the hope that kills us! Crucial game next up v Canaries of course.

I’ll even throw in Hull H in there as well. 

 

The key thing to remember is the majority of the teams in this league aren’t very good.
 

If Rowett can get something out of this group we do have the games to get the points we need.
