The club management better have a League One contingency plan at hand – and signings lined up as soon as the season's over and relegation confirmed.

But then again, with our recent transfer track record...

Because if it were me, we'd get rid of 75 to 80 percent of this team.

Faes will we gone for good (finally), as will Daka (who never lived up to the hype, bar four goals against Spartak).

El Khannouss won't come back (good), as does Coulibaly (good).

Skipp (massive letdown), Mavididi (massive letdown), Winks (because of his tantrums; also another letdown), Fatawu (steep drop in performance, head is someplace else; hopefully for a ton of money), Ayew (attitude and performance on the whole), Ricardo (age; retiring in Portugal), Okoli, De Cordova-Reid (performance), Choudhury, Kristiansen can all go.

Can't wait to see the back of them.

Why we signed Vieites, I'll never know.

Whomever thought these players would take us places should be declared legally insane and put in a mental hospital.

Provided he wants to stay and remains fit, build a team around Lascelles – alongside Vestergaard, Nelson and/or Souttar. I'd also keep Thomas. Despite all his flaws, there's a decent defender in there.

Build from the back.

Agree with most of that apart from Thomas he has been relegated 2 soon to be 3 times with us. Terrible defender.. tough to blame him as we have no one else to even compete with him.

The squad depth and squad in general is fully depleted.

Start with the players, particularly those who have shown a great disinterest in keeping this Club in the Championship.

They take grossly inflated wages but aren't interested in earning them. No fight, no passion

I don't disagree but who put them in that position? Who decided what wages they were put on? Who dictates the passion and interest in fighting for the badge by leading as an example?

The fix has to start at the top or you forever go round in circles. Get rid of these players only to replace them with more rubbish.

This club is rotten and has been in a decline for years due to gross mismanagement. It needs a full restart like we did almost 20 years ago.

Completely agree. Everything has to change else nothing will

I haven't bad mouthed the last 3 managers because honestly what's the point?

Build the side around Braybrooke, Alves, Evans, Aluko, Page and Hutchinson.

Got to fine a manager who will do that

Everyone on a ridiculous wage by League 1 standards from top to bottom in the club. We can't afford them and will be treading water to stay afloat financially if we can't get rid of the people on absolute jokes of wages.

That probably is everyone.

Lincoln’s full wage bill for the year in 2025 was £4.7m, just £84k a week! They’re going to be above us next year!

GK:Jakub with Begovic mentoring/backing up.

Bin Vietes.

RB: Let Ricardo go. Aluko first choice.

CB: I’d keep Lascelles on reduced terms and work with Nelson (new contract). The rest can go, including Vesty and Okoooli.

LB: LT -we have to try and get rid of him somehow. VK likewise. There are many solid options out there such as Joe Bryan and Bidwell.

DM/CM: NO ONE is going to pay what’s required for Skipp so he stays. Same with Winks due to his miraculous contract extension. JJ would be stupid to sign here.

By any means possible get rid of The Plonker Hamza.

Braybrooke and Cartwright to be involved.

AM: Keep Page and Alves. Try and loan out BDCR to Bristol or similar.

LW/RW: Sell Abdul. Try and get 2-4M for Stiffy. Keep Monga and Evans.

ST: Entire reset while giving Lorenz game time. Try and get a target man in.

Lets be honest here, unless there are changes at the top, which there wont be we are on a fast track to League 2 and/or insolvency. These lot are not capable of choosing a good manager or good players. No good manager would come here anyway. Best we can hope is we get lucky on some Journeyman they pick as thats our market.

Honestly don't care if any of them go, there are a few players we will probably get stuck with like Skipp, but he was never on monstrous wages even in the prem, estimated 50k, so if those rumours are true he will likely be cut right down to 20k in league 1, which would be big, but doubt we will get bidders and he has been one of the few players to find form this season.

Nelson will likely go but we should attempt to keep him and only bring in a manager who will play him, Page, Evans and Aluko need to be priority next season. Begovic will be 39, but if he can stay fit and will take a wage cut/new deal, he will be more than good enough for L1 and is multiple levels clear of Jakub imo, or if Vietes is willing to stay give him a try.

Coaches also need moving on.

Quite literally every other player can go, I really don't care, this club needs a FULL reset where we let go of everyone on over 20k in wages and focus on free transfers and loans. The only real saving grace for us being in this mess, is that if we can keep the lights on, we are the absolute pinnacle of League 1 facilities, and if any player has options in league 1 for example premier league players in need of a loan, we will be where they go over anyone else, and we will be the preferred destination for those top clubs given our facilities, we need to take full advantage and bring in atleast 5 loan players to protect our finances.

There are plenty of cheap players who have decent potential who would move to us from European 2nd division teams such as Jocelyn Janneh who I flagged in the summer who has made 22 starts for Bastia this season and is a hard battling defensive midfielder.
We can also start scouting foreign leagues with a bit less risk, places like Norway/Sweden who are producing decent talent at Championship/lower prem level who may be able to be snatched up in league 1 at the beginning of their journey. We have to be ruthless.

I'm looking for parallels between what we have now and what we had last time we ended up in League One.

There's no more than 3 players I can think of currently that would slot in ahead of those we had in the squad last time round.

We're crying out for a Steve Howard type of player and someone with the skill and attitude to boss the midfield at that level.  Oakley and Winks are a perfect example of two pros on the opposite ends of the professionalism scale when it comes to what is required at CM for example.

I'm pretty sure @Dunge would agree that, having seen me play,  putting me as a centre forward would be about the only thing capable of driving the club further into the mire than it already is.

They will have to sell any player they get a decent offer for

Got ****ed over with waiting for decent offers last summer. Every club knows we will need to offload and won't make decent offers. They have no reason to. Take what we can. Having someone sat on 30k a week costs us more in the long run than accepting a cheap deal to offload.

Any decent Chief Football Officer or DoF knows that when you are sinking, you take whatever you can to stay afloat. You don't drown waiting for a bigger boat.

Oh wait..Rudkin. We are ****ed.
