The answer always appears so obvious and realistic yet somehow they get it so wrong baring Enzo.

Our recent appointments have been dreadful apart from Enzo.
Even under Enzo it was a bore fest to watch.
It will be more down to luck than good judgement who we end up with next imo.

I do disagree about the bore fest under Enzo, you can’t help how the opposition sets up against you week in week out. But that’s a conversation for another day lol

You’re right it is a conversation for another day.
I’ll just agree to disagree with you. 😂

Happy to be wrong, just sharing what I’d been told.
said in the original post that the guy was 50/50 on info. But he’s been on the money the last 2 times.

We've heard it's David Wagner. I work for a well-known sports broadcaster and Wagner fits because a) Out of Work so no compensation and b) Did a good job at Huddersfield and Norwich working on a shoestring budget.

Top and Rudkin currently having a hart to hart to decide on this oneimages(4).jpeg.79c227e4d80c0f740bb09a3a3e484297.jpeg

Hypothetically speaking, a new owner would want to choose his own manager.

You can imagine Top and Rudkin discussing how they can take the heat off themselves at home games.

Solution: Recruit Russell Martin

Profit.

I remain sceptical. Martin would be an absolutely terrible choice for so many reasons—it’s almost impossible to identify a logical thought process that would lead to him being appointed. Having been plunged down two divisions by our defensive abjectness, are we really about to appoint somebody who is famous for his inability to coach a defence? At a time when the club’s relationship with the fans is at an all-time low, are they really going to make an appointment they know will make things even worse? Left to their own devices, I suppose Top and Rudkin might just make a decision as bad as this—hopefully our new Sporting Director and CEO will steer us away from it.

I've come to the conclusion that Foxestalk is completely out of step and our fanbase will think that Martin will be great for us, cos' Top says so.

I think this is the key, there isn't a doubt in my mind that Top and Rudkin will want him and will of spoken to him.

It could just be lazy links, I was told similar to GLC, I have a family member who works around the Forest Academy who told me, so its definitely not a concrete link that you would put a bet on. But I guess no smoke without fire etc.

But yes, if it is true and we are genuinely in advanced talks with him, then it certainly would tell me that the new director is just the fall guy and they are doing what they want. I would find it hard to believe a new Director coming in would pick Martin as the number 1 choice, but like I say you'd bet your house, if left to their own devices Top and Rudkin will be trying to sell him the dream. I actually think Martin will go abroad and turn us down if the rumours of him being spoken to are true. But I guess we just strap ourselves in and hope its either nonsense or nothing more than hes applied and by default under consideration.
