Popular Post Ric Flair Posted 7 June Popular Post Posted 7 June Woken up to many texts from Charlie Methven saying exactly what a lot of us are saying. What on earth are we playing at going for Martin. Have we not learnt anything yet? Not to mention how appalling he's done at Rangers and made a mockery of by us whenever we've played his teams but League One is not an environment to go in to it arrogant and trying to play possession football. Cleverley tried it at Plymouth and was nigh on bottom at Xmas and changed to counter attacking football and thrived. Looked at Lincoln with the lowest possession in the league and pissing it. You need a high calibre squad and a high calibre manager to get that type of football to work and we'll have neither. 17

His appointment at the KP is not a given thing. Percy has only said he is in talks with us. Hopefully, he is in advanced talks with a host of other clubs - and does the sensible thing (for us and himself) in choosing someone else! 2
Rubbersoul Posted 7 June Posted 7 June It’s not even self sabotage as they’re not smart enough to do that. They are genuinely just thick. 4

He deliberately changed the approach away from his core coaching philosophy. Pragmatic and more concerned about success than his ego and his principles. Would take him in a heartbeat over Martin who’s completely intransigent and Rowett who is just clueless 2
Stavros81 Posted 7 June Posted 7 June We were all hoping for a positive start a reset after the shite that’s been served over the recent years. What is with us and Southampton links. The guy had 1 win in 17 with Rangers arguably an easier league than League one. I hope it works out but it’ll only take a draw or loss for fans to start turning again on Martin and the board! Our owners are so out of their depth and don’t have the skills to be running a club.
Popular Post LCFCJohn Posted 7 June Popular Post Posted 7 June I’ve been one for wanting to give managers a chance. Cooper I held nothing against for his time at Forest and was hopeful his approach would be ok for picking up results and to be fair did for a bit. It was more the signings under him that is what I had an issue with like Ayew and Skipp for what we paid and his insistence on experience. Cifuentes I was quickly positive about as I saw him as along the Rohl lines of his work at QPR. And he was awful. And Rowett I thought would pick up the results needed to keep us up when he came in. But this is the one I just can’t see any positives in. Genuinely coming from a patient individual as above, but if Martin is appointed, Martin out from day one for me. 11
Nolucklcfc Posted 7 June Posted 7 June With the lack of IQ that rudders and Top have, it’s no surprise this is happening really. Just makes me despair that such thick people can be in such high positions.
The Doctor Posted 7 June Posted 7 June cannot wait for the inevitable radio Leicester phone in calling fans entitled after booing an opening day 4-0 defeat at home to Bromley. utterly rancid appointment. 1

We need a new owner more than anything, everything else is just broken for as long as Top is here, including style of play and manager preference. 1
Pliskin Posted 7 June Posted 7 June I think this just proves that Rudders and that little fella he keeps in his pocket, really don’t give a **** about the fans, and they really don’t understand football at all. 1
Ian Nacho Posted 7 June Posted 7 June Just the idea you can go from Gary Rowett to Russell Martin is insane. 2
damolcfc Posted 7 June Posted 7 June From looking at his managerial stats I'm actually fairly confident we will be smashing that passing record 😜 that's better than Barcelona.... Burton Albion won't know what's hit them!! Get him signed 😝

Teams like Bournemouth have adapted/bettered it. -Disappointment from Anil that we haven’t gone for, say an assistant manager from someone like Bournemouth. - Fear fanbase will be against him from the off and he will be fighting a losing battle - Anil acknowledged that ANY manager we get, will likely find it difficult to hit the ground running in the first weeks of the season, given player turnover. - read out the Rangers fans opinions of him 😂 For: - Accepting that at least a decision is being made, relatively early. At least we are starting to ‘do something’ - They talked through his time at Swansea and MK Dons - Talked about him not being quite as bad as some make out - Read out the Southampton fans opinions of RM - Talked about how the Southampton players wanted him back after Will Still was sacked. - Will play/develop youngsters thats about what I remember Edited 7 June by County Fox 1 1
Helsingborg Foxes Posted 7 June Posted 7 June Brendan Rodgers, Mike Stowell, Adam Sadler, no Chris Powell Deano Smith, Maresca, Steve Cooper booed Ben Dawson, Goals van Ruud, Spanish guy in a mood Andy King, Rowett dude, Russell Martin vegan food We didn’t start the fire We didn’t light it but we tried to fight it 1
Popular Post Ian Nacho Posted 7 June Popular Post Posted 7 June In all seriousness, he's a perfect fit. I've never seen a manager who is a closer embodiment to any football club than Martin is to ours. An unwillingness to change no matter what. 10
sm1 Posted 7 June Posted 7 June Martin is just the symptom, the actual disease is Top. We're the club that did the impossible, winning the PL playing fast, counter attacking football. And Top talks about us going back to our "identity", playing slow, possession football. He's completely deluded, turning whatever he touches to shit. 4

Yeah this will happen. It happened quite a bit with Enzo - and that was even when we were top of the league! , he hated his tactics being questioned. I can see it being the same with RM - but without us being top of the league

winteriscoming Posted 7 June Posted 7 June My only hope is that we end up messing up appointing Martin. Seem to remember that Potter was all but done and then within a few hours it was Cooper. 1
