a league away day at Notts County would be good. Hooters. Pints. Football.

Looking forward to not playing Coventry tbh

the mainstream media will be all over them next season to be honest. The Frank Lampard wankfest. The Doug King love in.

There will be things to look forward to if we can see the back of King Power. It'll likely be as a consequence of administration (in my opinion) which may feel like it'll get worse before it gets better due to the lunacy of points deductions, which as Sheffield Wednesday are about to experience, they double down when no new buyer is willing to pay an unrealistic figure to the ex owner/s who caused administration in the first place.

However, if we do not see a change in ownership there is nothing tangible worth looking forward to. Aiyawatt has shown his complete disregard for righting the wrongs here, otherwise he'd have not promoted those who have been part of the major decline. Only a major shake up off the field could there have been any small chance of recovery, as he clearly needs help in running businesses, let alone football clubs. But that has been aggressively dismissed in these appointments a few months ago, bar the poor James McAaron who must be vastly regretting his life choices.

I said it what feels like an eternity ago, but will have been within the last couple of years, that we are just having to wait now until this harrowing period draws to a close. We are wasting time but unfortunately we don't have a fanbase with the appetite to voice their disgruntlement about our club. Seemingly prefer to let nature take it's cause and take each experience as it comes, whilst asking out loud what the Tigers score is.

I am so heart broken about my football club right now, I've been numb for a couple of years after it peaked in 2022 what we were on the precipice of. I went in to protection mode and the love and the hate was diluted as a result, to the point I have minimal reaction and emotion to every appalling decision from this club and every disgraceful mistake and performance. However, this week it has come back with a vengeance and hit me. Funnily enough when I saw Portsmouth go 2 nil up and you see their starting line up of 11 little known players who have handed Ipswich their harris's on a plate and solidified us in to oblivion. A team with professional pride, like Oxford too. Anxious and emotive about the high pressure situation of a relegation battle that sometimes will fall short but the effort and bravery often leads to what both team have shown on and off in these recent weeks. Not us, not fcukin us.

We won’t see the like of the last 10 years again for a very long time. We may well have experienced peak Leicester for the next 20-30 years.

There is no guarantee that any new owners turn the club around, we’ve blown our chance to establish ourselves at the top table and the Premier League is getting ever more competitive.

Even if we promoted to the PL in a couple of seasons time, we’re coming straight back down 9 times out of 10.

We can just be thankful that we had those years, rather than sad that they are gone. We’re back in the wilderness for the foreseeable future.

In ironic mode:  League 1 is proper football with proper clubs and proper fans, not like the Championship with its diving players, foreign owners etc. etc.

Provided we’re only in it for one season there’s a lot to look forward to. Rediscovering a winning feeling, rebuilding the connection people have lost with the club, and getting our house in order.

Sunderland got stuck for a few seasons but look at them now, it can often be what clears out all the problems and allows you to start fresh.

Guessing you live in Lancashire (or now part of Greater Manchester depending on location) so either way, Wigan, one of Bolton/Stockport (and Salford may end up in League Two play offs). Bradford now too far away but also Huddersfield, Barnsley and Doncaster in Yorkshire.

For me all of those are really easy to get too. Plus Mansfield and I'm hoping Chesterfield or Notts County come up. Just a shame Rotherham, Port Vale and Northampton have gone down.

That is all I can think of as a positive, aside from that I'm lost as a third tier club. Sad.

That's true, yeah I live in Greater Manchester now. So defo so sad away days.

Seeing Thomas and Choudhury playing only one league higher than their level instead of two.

Having a good laugh at the social media posts trying to whip up a frenzy for tickets for the visit of Wycombe.

If anyone says “a few new grounds” they deserve a smack.

****ing nothing good about league one. The championship is the pits, league one is the arsehole of football.

People look at at, and I'll reiterate OUR ONLY EVER SEASON IN LEAGUE ONE through rose tinted spectacles. We einning most gamed and had a manager and a group of players we could get behind. That eill probably not be the case this time. It's going to be really grim.

It’s being reported that Wednesday will start next season in EFL1 with a 15 points deduction.

This emphasises why I believe people need to be very careful when they are almost begging for Administration.

Let me explain . To exit Administration there has to BA an agreement with creditors to pay a% of the outstanding debts. The sum new owners are prepared to pay to buy Wednesday out will see just 6p in the £ but as a minimum it appears that it will have to be 15p in the £. Most of Wednesdays debts were to the ex owner.

To make up 15 points ain’t going to be easy

It depends what their new owner can do. If they can come in, fresh start, invest in the squad and start the season in a feel good mood, 15 points sounds a lot but could be cleared pretty quickly if performing at a promotion level. I’m not saying they would any of this by the way, but let’s say they won the first 5, there’d be 2/3 teams already who’s have pretty much lost all theirs.

Either way, it closes the chapter for them and they can look forward.

I thought League One =

1) Inability to manage size of current debt

2) Administration

3) Further points punishment

4) Potential relegation

5) Demise of club prior to, or after further relagtion

6) Creation of fake phoenix club

This is what I'd picked up from this forum. If that's not the case, then still having a club to support will be one nice thing.

Which is it?

I'm disappointed that we have sunk to this level. It's down to utter mismanagement and lack of interest from Top and the board.

However winning games is the thrill for me. Doesn't really matter which league. The contest, the desire to win, the craic of the banter, which can be very amusing in smaller grounds because you can literally shout witty insults between the fans

Sammy Braybrooke giving us a season of fabulous single pivot football before being sold to a big club like Stoke City after we lose in the League 1 play offs.
