Things to Look Forward to in League One

Any smidge of positivity to look forward to in the next 12 months?! Aside from obvious deadwood and mercenaries moving on that shouldn't have been anywhere near the squad... 

 

Any new away days? Chance at winning the prestigious Football League Trophy...?

We are in an extremely bizarre position considering the last 10 years that it feels like we won't have the massive big fish in small pond aura like we had in 2008/09. I doubt many opposition fans in League 1 will treat us with more respect than they treat current league 1 teams.

Looking forward to the emergence and improvement of some of our "younger yet old enough to play 30+ games" academy players.

 

Players like Braybrooke, Aluko, Stolarcyzk, Alves, Page, Monga etc.

 

I am sure they would all thrive in a positive environment. We just have to pray to god that we're consistent and unrelenting in our pursuit to get rid of deadwood and willy pullers.

 

If we can fill in the gaps with some smart signings as well as bringing in clear leaders and role models then I do think we should come back up.

 

There are a lot of ifs to answer though.

Under competent ownership there'd be a few things to be excited about, especially with a promising crop of youngsters coming through. Under this lot, I find it hard to believe we'll be anything other than a shambles regardless of the division.

 

Best hope we have is to luck out on a manager, in the unlikely event that did happen, we'll probably end up in a situation where the gaffer and McCarron fall out and we just revert to being terrible anyway

 

I'm fully invested in seeing just what depths Top and Rudders can see us plummet to though.

Oh, are you suggesting selling those players so they can enjoy a more positive environment somewhere else and put away their own plates when they’ve finished eating?

Correct. I'm sure that's either people obsessed with "completing the 92" or the pure nostalgia of the fact we mashed the league beating lots of teams with consummate ease which actually did make it a pleasure.

 

We won't be mashing the league next year - not easily anyway. The season of constant KPFC v normal folk will be a theme in the stands.

I would say away days but I'll bet that the ticket allocations are so small they'll be snarled up by the same faces.

You'd be surprised. Plenty of games move to 12.30 these days
