Letting our fantastic owner down

They offered them to box holders for nothing last week

If nhs workers and box holders are being offered free tickets it all stinks a bit for the average punter who has stumped up for himself and his family to go.

Not cheap for an end of season kick about.

If charity was ever the real point.

In reality, it's more likely a combination of things - all far from any noble charitable urge

A cack handed reaction to some criticism that the club hadn't marked the occasion.

A vanity exercise for the owner, dreamt up by the of feeble, subservient staff

And a complete head-in-sand collective and systematic corporate wide delusion to avoid acknowledging  a gigantic scale failure.

Ex players not being able to let go seems a big part of these kind of events too. Watching how serious some of them get for Soccer Aid is quite humourous.

Of course.

The whole things a mockery though isn’t it

You could use this whole event and everything surrounding it to explain to absolutely anyone why we’ve fell off a cliff the last 5 years on and off the pitch.

The complete deniability from the club

The tone deaf social media advertising it

The organisation of it

The timing of it

The closing of stands as reality sets in, yet they still persevere

How sure would you be that Rudkin and/or Top will rock up to this? If they do, I can't see them showing their face to the crowd of 80 people and waving hello to the 39 sat in A1.

They have started giving tickets away, my wife is a nurse and has been sent an invite.

I've booked in with her for a prostate health check on the pitch at half time :)

Guarantee the club are sat there scratching their heads as to why tickets aren't selling.

Years of taking the 'legacy fans' for granted, now the tourists have disappeared they're left with nowt.

Sell the club and **** off.

It’s brilliant

Well, although the infighting will no doubt carry on ad nauseum, at least we were ALL there when it counted. We will always have 2015/16 and this club will NOT die.

doesn’t look great when he is bothering to show up to play against Chippenham Town in a charity match vs “Premier League Legends”, but won’t play essentially the same game for Leicester

How much do you think it costs the club to open the stadium for half a day?

£3k?

How much have we paid these players to turn up?

Now we’re giving tickets away for free/reimbursing fans

How much will the club lose on this smoke and mirrors charade?

Gotta do something to make the money back he may have spaffed up the wall when cancelling that Q&A night due to poor sales.

Its when you see any NET proceeds go to charity. Even with the usual Hollywood Accouting you get with anything charity across the board when its Net proceeds, this thing aint turning a profit.

Oh no, of course it was always going to be net in my opinion. We are genuinely that skint we can’t afford to stand the costs of all the above.

I’m working on the assumption that after ‘all’ the tickets actually sold, and now some being reimbursed, the club have shifted focus on turning a profit for the Vichai Foundation to a vanity damage limitation exercise visually (crowd numbers)

To me it sounds like they’ve secretly accepted they’re going to make a loss on this, which is hilarious and worrying in equal measures

He’s also appearing a game at Leicester Nirvana representing a Manchester United ‘legends’ team. Alongside his attempts to create his own event he was due to profit on
