The anger comes at them even attempting to celebrate in this way after the most disgraceful season in our history.

At this point we are just mocking everything about it, including the morons who want to attend. This pathetic line up just tops it off.

They've been that ashamed of the line up that they've announced no one from it for weeks.

Not the first time ive been called a moron and I care to bet not the last

The club are in a catch 22!

Don’t celebrate the amazing achievement (“can’t believe they haven’t celebrated it). Do celebrate it (“we just got relegated””)

And before you think I’m mr Rudkin - I hate what’s happening and we could be in big trouble if we don’t go up first time. I just think wasting our energy and anger on this game is a bit silly

You call it wasted energy, I call it cathartic.

For comparison, Steve Walsh’s testimonial was against a Brian Little all star team featuring Gazza, David Seamen, John Barnes and Chris Evans.

30 years later and we can’t even get Stephen Mulhern for our title win anniversary.

Because everyone asked him to make Ruskin disappear

I've heard this argument and I don't understand it.

You could have done a few things to celebrate it whilst being respectful to the predicament we are in. Q+As, a few social media posts, maybe an interview with Ranieri.

I don't remember anyone for the last year saying let's hope we get to see Wes Morgan barely fit into his old XL or Ulloa out of breath after 15 minutes. What a fitting celebration that would be.

It's a bit like your Mum dying but everyone deciding to still go ahead with your birthday bash in Ibiza a week later.

Just continued signs of how awful we're ran behind the scenes. This should've been such an easy win, almost impossible to **** up.

Yet Rudders and Top have found a way

Left it so late with the organisation of it all.

Bayern, Real Madrid, Barca, Inter Milan - they all have charity legends teams what turn up for these sort of things. It should have been that sort of opposition.

I wonder how they sold it to each player as well.

'yeah sure, we've got loads of superstars coming to play, you'll be on a great team alongside other legends of the game...'

If you are Glenn Whelan you wonder why you’re getting a call to play along side R9 aren’t you. Or do you mean our lot 😂

Out of interest what team were you all expecting the old guard to play? While I get the frustration around the club at the moment (and rightly so), I don’t get why everyone kicking off over a charity match. You’re not going to get pirlo, zidane and Rooney playing!

They could have invited Real Madrid Legends over. Look at their squad for recent charity games they've played.

QUADS:
Real Madrid Leyendas: Casillas, Buyo, Contreras, Míchel Salgado, Roberto Carlos, Pepe, Varane, Milla, Raúl, Butragueño, Baptista, Kroos, Congo, Alfonso, Amavisca, Iván Campo, Marcelo, Raúl Bravo, Fernando Sanz and Granero.

I think it really just shows how poorly planned and timed this event is.

It should have been held in one of the early season international breaks.

The bigger clubs in the country have "legends" matches that are held in a similar fashion and there's no reason why Leicester couldn't have played a team of former Chelsea players for instance. It feels like Liverpool play an AC Milan 11 every year.

Exactly this.

Jesus Christ!

I suppose you arent going to attract megastars for something like this but...............:nigel:

I think the Leicester team would need to be the exact squad from 2016 for me to even consider going to this:plancque:

The idiotic timing is the biggest issue.

Most decent names will be involved in World Cup broadcasts and travelling to America or wherever to do testing.

The day of the champions league final probably ruled out someone like Hazard who loves a charity game and would have made so much sense! (again, broadcast stuff)

Similarly with what others have said about all start Celtic/Liverpool/Real teams... they'll all likely be getting more money to be involved in world cup stuff.

Useless fools.

That All-Star XI is truly bizarre. I'm still trying to work out how much trolling has been involved in the selection process.

I strongly approve of a few selections:

- Pulis as manager is a fine bit of trolling, though they should've gone the whole hog and recruited Warnock

- Deeney is a masterstroke of a selection given his profile and, er, historical association with LCFC

- McAuley isn't a bad shout, but why not recruit a few more pre-PL LCFC veterans.....Howard, Lloyd Dyer, Wellens, Hume, Dickov, Logan...?

- I suppose Shane Long scored against us a few times

- Dwight Gayle is a great shout, as he's inherently annoying, so good booing opportunities. But couldn't they have got El-Hadj Diouf, too?

What other criteria have been applied to selection?

- Looks as if you're straight in if you name is Wes (tribute to Capt. Morgan?)

- An association with Pulis or being the sort of player Pulis would appreciate definitely seems to be a criterion....

:dunno:
