I’ve heard that they’re going to rush Russell Martin’s appointment to today, primarily so they can use his missus in the next grovelling social media announcement.

It shows you they have never segmented the fanbase out at all. They're spending more on ads than they ever have to flog tickets to a loss making event - every fan that might buy a ticket already has.

 

It reflects very badly on Kevin Davies too, in my opinion. Any serious, hard-nosed CEO would have called this before it got off the ground but Mr. Happy To Be There with his finance background won't rock the boat.

You can tell by the blocks that have started to 'sell' that they've given away tickets opposite the tunnel.

Who’s to say the CEO can make that call? How do we know? Maybe he’s been suggesting that and is overruled by Top?

There’s a reason he was appointed over an external candidate - he’ll always fall into line with Top, which Top will recognise and reward handsomely, as we’ve seen with Rudkin over the years

I think its become pretty obvious over the past weeks that this has pretty much become a showpiece and priority for the club, particularly in an attempt to try and buy time in having to comment on last season and make any form of announcements around next season. 

 

After this they pretty much run out of places to hide from addressing the fan base, let's hope we here something next week. 

 

As for the match, its pretty sad how much of a non-event it is. I remember when we won the title, my dad who was around 50 at the time said that nothing else would top that for him, it was the pinnacle of his time being a fan of the club. He asked me the other day if I was bothered about going along to this and I told him pretty certainly that I wasn't. How sad that those who have run the club have driven people like myself to such disdain that I'd quickly shut down the idea of getting to spend time with my old man celebrating one of the happiest moments of his and manys lifetime.

 Absolute gold. It all comes back to that magic A word; accountability. In that there simply isn't any, across the whole club/business. Imagine the marketing/sales heads are basically told you need to sell x amount of this and then make x number of posts relating to a particular thing and then just left to it. Nobody making sure they pivot as the needs/demand changes

The CEO is responsible for the day-to-day operations, if he is overruled and undermined by somebody jeopardising club’s finances and statutory obligations then he should resign.

 

We have (or have had) liquidity issues and there isn’t a business case for this anymore.
