****ing hell it's not my fault you're thick lol

I know you like to spend your sad existence trying to get rep points from strangers, but I think you missed the point.

There was nothing to cherry pick and no argument to be had,

the point is as strong either way.

A shit return with 12 goals in 9 and a shit return of the other 8 matches with 8 goals.

But you’re desperate to roll out your over used idioms in the hope of getting a few likes.

If the point is as strong either way why did you exclude them in the first place?

We are still absolutely crying for pace on the flanks.

Baffling that he will play Doyle in the 8.5/10 but not try Alves there. Alves is not a LW and certainly isn’t a RW.

Howell and Watson, despite an iffy start, would make us so much more of a threat.

So many of our attacks or potential counter attacks break down due to a simple lack of pace.

Think Alves had a wicked game at RWB. Imagine once JJ is back we'll see Alves move up to the 10 role.

Alves has been one of the few bright sparks. And he's the only attacking player with pace so not sure why you want him in the 10 but pace on the wings?

But otherwise I'm with you. Howell should be on the right and Watson on the bench, as crap as he's been. Same with Bristric, just so we have a striker. Get McPharlane in for Thomas as well which again gives a bit more pace.

Alves has been a very bright spark and I want him in the 11.

He just isn’t quick enough for the wing, for me.

12 goals in 9 games

if you deduct the 4 against Stockport that’s 8 in 8 on average

You can be unlucky occasionally when it’s said after most games, it’s to do with the chances we create.

The majority are pretty scruffy chances

12 in 7 if you deduct the games we haven’t scored in. We’ll take that won’t we.

Feels to me like the board have told him to change his tactics after some embarrassing home performances. Can't believe he chose today of his own back.

Not itk but maybe a discussion was had between head coach(es) and Rudkin/macron and maybe it was discussed how the players didn’t have the confidence to play the Martin way and maybe it would be better to just play more directly to try and get some results and maybe once the players had regained some confidence that then could be a better time to go back to the pass pass pass style.

Pretty sure he wouldn’t have done it off his own back.

Brussell has mastered the art of spreading his wins out as thinly as possible to save him from being sacked, like Cifuentes did.

Yep. He'll do it until it puts us in serious danger. This season is eerily similar to last already.

One win doesn’t make a party he still needs to be Fuched off out of our club sooner rather than later he’s inadequate of making us play any better than we are, I didn’t hear his post match interview he was probably blowing smoke up his own Ar5E, I’d say give Rob Edwards a go he’s head & shoulders above Rusty Martin !

Why the hell is the French president getting involved! You’d think he’d have other things to think about with what’s going off there

Nobody should be changing their opinion on the basis of one game. He seems to have binned off the high-risk passing out from the GK which is good and there was a generally more pragmatic footballing approach. There has been a lot of talk about his style but the achilles heel of this team is the defensive structure and a lack of desperation to keep the ball out of the net. It was better today but another poor goal conceded (I'm not sure how O'Hora is facing his own goal when the cross comes in). Let's see if they can back it up on Tuesday.

First formation change in 3 years and certain players look better instantly.

Ditch the silly obsession with unnecessary possession and passing and we look better.

If have sacked him a couple of weeks ago but deserves a pat on the back today. Also post match interview was good as well.

Why is it baffling that Alves has played predominantly as a left winger? When the player was interviewed earlier this season he said left wing was his strongest position. It shouldn’t be baffling that a player is frequently played in their favoured role. He’s not slow anyway and when he’s dribbling with the ball he’s actually rapid. Quick touches, keeps the ball close and can trick a player either way. He was very good in the RWB role yesterday btw. He is rIght footed so he looked balanced in that role where there’s less requirement to cut in but he can do so still and hit the crossbar with his left foot effort.

Doyle was also outstanding in the 8 role today, I was happy that Martin found a way to play them both in a back 3 formation that negates wingers.

New chant for when we next lose

SACK THE FRAUD

SACK THE FRAUD

SACK THE FRAUD

ETC ETC

The ETC ETC bit would be quite challenging to chant tbf. Doesn’t really fit the beat of the other lines.

Welcome to Martinball.

We always had sarcastic comments on our Swans fora after every depressing draw or loss of ‘at least we won in the passing’. Even wins felt empty and it was always a struggle, such as a 3-2 or something. We rarely comfortably put a game to bed at 2-0. Even at that scoreline you always felt there was a screw up at the back coming.

There were brief rumours of him returning to us a year ago and you wouldn’t believe (well, maybe you would!) the number of fans who said they wouldn’t renew their season ticket if he did.

At the end of the day, football is entertainment…and Martinball is a dire, dire watch, twinned with poor results. It’s the worst of both worlds.

Sure, you’ll get times where it’ll click and it’ll look sublime for 20-30 seconds, the problem is, this is once in every ten games or something. And it doesn’t get better. This is where you’ll get a strange extreme minority of fans that’ll think Russ is a diamond in the rough or something. It’s almost like a cult. There are still a couple of our fans who pine for him back, but I must stress that is a very small amount of people.

If you’re lucky, he’ll dump his suicide tactics when he comes under pressure. The problem is, his ego is such that he’ll switch back to them as soon as the results come in.

There’s a reason he’s known as ‘pound shop Pep’.

Ah, you’re at that stage now I see… 😁

Tactical genius. Who knew you could play football without passing it around the team for 5 minutes before losing the ball. We're lucky to have him.
