I still think comfortably top half, which probably means in twelve months time their fans will be ready to sit down for the Npower curtain raiser on a Friday night, away at West Brom with Prutts, Jermaine and Jobi

People probably often wonder why I'm even here at this particular forum(especially more so lately).

 

When Leicester City won the Premier League in 2016 it was a win for many of us as football fans. The ones who start each season with very little hope of ever winning anything.

 

We(Notts) got promoted to our highest level in years and with that we lost our two best players as a reward for it.

It's why I stopped really caring ages ago, if the Sky 6 can't beat a team on the pitch, they will just take their best players. It all feels rather pointless in the end.

I still enjoy the game itself and it gives me a reason to get up early(here in Canada) on the weekends.

 

I went last season without getting the subscription to watch Notts, but I just couldn't pass it up for this season.

The amount of money Spurs have spent this summer despite not being in Europe, finishing 17th twice in a row and not finishing in the top 4 in any of the last four seasons is all the evidence you need that the spending rules in football are unbelievably broken. 

 

What other club that's been competing with Spurs in the last couple of seasons down that end of the table could possibly hope to drop what they have? 

 

They're on course to spend, and this isn't hyperbole here, half an actual billion pounds on signings in this window when you factor in signing bonuses, transfer fees, agent fees, add ons and the like. 

 

It's ****ing mental. No wonder they realised they had to take the "fair play" out of the rules. But if that's "sustainable" just because they've got a fancy stadium that hosts NFL games then the world's gone ****ing mad.

It's certainly revolting times to follow top level football! 

 

It's even more disgusting that clubs like Chelsea, Man City et al stand make profits on players whose value should have dropped significantly during their time there. I mean, if you look at what we sold Barnes, Maddison, KDH for despite their proven record and then see what Delap and Savinho go for, it's criminal.

 

How are Spurs even contemplating this?

The way transfer fees have absolutely ballooned world wide this summer is really, really confusing to me at a time when PSR / FFP is supposed to have started tightening up a bit. I feel out of the loop like I must have missed something but I have no ****ing clue what's going on.

We're talking about Joe and Carlton Cole on the "Dressing Room Podcast" making an observation that a side whose best player is Olly ****ing McBurnie might struggle   They are going to get their arses tanned regularly and people on platforms greater than this podcast will say it all season long.

reason this is so high is because of the Marmoush transfer - apparently there is a massive sell on clause in his contract so Spurs are paying more for Savinho and less for Marmoush so City don't have to pay as much to Frankfurt 

 

The whole system is corrupt AF i wouldn't be surprised to see someone from Spurs going to Man City for big money in the next week or two. 

 

 

BUT all of the new Spurs signings you cannot look at and say they drastically improve their team and isnt their talk of making Madison club captain  not sure i would want him leading the team!

So disrespectful to Hull. I really hope they stay up. "They've come here through the back door", how? They won the play offs just like countless of other teams through the years. They were predicted to go down last season and went up instead, no different to Blackpool or Burnley.

I don’t understand how they managed to sell three players in a defence that nearly got them relegated in both the last two season for a combined £135m?
