So disrespectful to Hull. I really hope they stay up. "They've come here through the back door", how? They won the play offs just like countless of other teams through the years. They were predicted to go down last season and went up instead, no different to Blackpool or Burnley.

How is it disrespectful? Their squad is shit. They are totally unprepared for the Premier League and will massively struggle.

They came up through the back door because of what happened with Southampton and Middlesbrough. It was essentially a free pass to the Premier League. No harm in pointing that out.

I don’t understand how they managed to sell three players in a defence that nearly got them relegated in both the last two season for a combined £135m?

Have they?

Joe Cole not going to do punditry because he thinks Hull will go down anyway? I don't like that. Seems off to me.

Millwall were team that finished third and Hull beat them over two legs, with ease. At that point Hull shouldn't have even had to play a final against Middlesbrough as they were given a bye to the final because of Southampton cheating.

Hull had an embargo last summer, a new manager too, and their squad was made up of a lot of free transfers. They were predicted to go down. No way should they have been near top 6 but they did it. So of course their squad is "shit".

Middlesbrough spent £30m last summer and couldn't even win the play offs at three attempts. So, no, Hull didn't come through the back door - they won the Play Offs just like other teams throughout history - Middlesbrough would have been through the back door though, I'd get that reference if it was them that went up.

Southern pundits hated the thought that Hull came up. Meant a long trip up north, if it had been Soton coming up instead, they wouldnt be making comments 'come up via the back door' or refusing to pundit games. Southern snobbery once again.

You’re right I’ve over egged it and was going on Euros. Vuskovic was £50m, Romero £34m and £25m, so about £114m.

It was Vuskovic that confused me, as he didn't actually play for Spurs.

Yep. And yet he’s a £50m defender apparently worth five times as much as Monga.

To be fair, he's a CB who's scored 5 times as many goals as Monga, so it works out that way

Hopefully they'll get Ashley and Andy to join for A COLE NEW BALL GAME podcast, hosted by Richard Keys for even more banter.

Guehi taking the money and going to Man City from Palace is about to backfire on him a bit, as Maresca's fist choice duo at CB seems to be Dias and Gvardiol.

I’m sure he’ll be crying into his wallet whilst also starting 20-30 games a season across all competitions

looking forward to watching Cov get pasted

They have barely strengthened their 11.

Yes they have more depth now but the 11 is still top 6 championship.

Having said that they have the best chance of the 3 who’ve come up IMO.

Considered hatewatching this one, but I came to the conclusion that I will be happier this season if I just pretend the Premier League doesn't exist
