Apparently the assistant gave offside against Haaland so actually they were right to originally  but in reality it was offside anyway due to Fernandez     being offside .

In that case it's bizarre that Enzo jumping to within a couple of inches of the ball wasn't judged offside by him either. Cluster****.

We were immediately fxxxed by PSR on return to The Prem and had to sell both our (world class)manager and best player to Chelsea.

 

Ayew and Reid were pathetic signings at the time, I doubt we paid much in wages, both free agents. Skipp was the attrocious call, coming off a serious injury with Spuds, absolute shite for a while as evidenced at the KP in that ENG v FRA u23 game at the KP summer '22, Cooper got him because of the England youth background which paid off for him at Forest with Hudson-Odoi and Gibbs-White.

 

Authorities crippled us after going back up, Club didn't react as best it could, misery ensued and 'still wallowing.

Sometimes players just fit certain clubs and Calvert-Lewin seems to have found that at Leeds.

Simply not true. We bought Okoli.

Newcastles stats this season have indicated this was coming, particularly against a team that have gone at them.

I think what we will see is some of the top 6 teams over past few seasons bottle it. Just like we did

 

Villa. The toon, etc . Had to sell cos of PSR and now they are struggling and look they are seriously unable to cope

 

Something we know all too much. Sell all ur best players and then have a manager in place that can't bail u out of it. No plan B or C just the same w@nk week in week out hoping to scrape a win from somewhere...

 

And the players too. All of em getting paid a small fortune to play sh!t football. Get battered and then ten mins later all happy smiles and gaffs... t0ssers

I'm not questioning that they've both had to sell, and I'm not questioning that the rules are skewed in favour of the "elite" - but unable to cope? Newcastle have spent ~£270 million this summer and Villa have spent ~£255 million. They're replacing good players but they've had the cash to do so.

Seems when you have to replace those players that were working for you, clubs overspend on average players. Newcastle look bang average and a shadow of previous teams.

Whilst this is true, both clubs have lost established premier league players that were pretty much the spine of their team. You can spend all the money you like but that’s hard to replace, especially when their replacements for the majority have been young players that haven’t played in the prem. Big boots to fill and with the clubs they’re at, instant pressure to perform.
