You can see the GK pause to save a potentially incoming header and then have to readjust for Haaland's shot, so he definitely influenced the play. 

 

Just for the sakes of keeping the game simple and free-flowing, with no 5 minutes stating at monitors.

Totally inexcusable that three var refs can’t get that offside call right. - especially when the onfield call was offside (though it’s unknown if it was  Haaland who was called by the lino)  


guarantee that if they’d shown it to Oliver he would have disagreed with them and the correct call would have been made 

 

atm, social media has a double down post from ref media centre - even worse that they’d defend it rather than just ignore it until Webb or someone else senior gets involved to admit the error.

Despise Bruno Fernandes. Great player but an utterly horrible bell end. Felt sorry for Foden today, think most people would react badly to being deliberately kicked up the arse.

Apparently  they are now saying the VAR should have ask Michael Oliver to go and look at the incident and decide for himself if Fernandez was interfering with play. 

 

Bit late now for Man U but another reason why people won't trust the system. 

 

The other Enzo seemed to think it was rightly allowed.

 

I wonder why....

Yes - it’s a clear case where the referee has to view the incident to decide 

the VAR(s) totally dopey on this incident. how three of them can miss this is astonishing.

Leagues that dont have VAR in some cases are asking for VAR. I know a few Championship ones are for example. Thing is at this point it goes back to that "clear and obvious" point. If we are sat debating it then it wasnt clear. 

 

Should be within 1 minute of a goal or other incident VAR can raise a review, they then get 2 minutes to investigate and if the clock runs out the game continues.

I think VAR actually got it right overturning the Haaland offside but went too far and decided to make an error in thinking Fernandez  wasn’t interfering with play .

 

So had they just checked properly and said onside for one but offside in the other situation would have been right.

Trouble is teams world probably want a review of the review and the game might not  ever end .

 

I think you have to just use VAR for non subjective decisions and any that are just go with the ref hoping they got it right as happened pre VAR .
