That point about Oxford being an outlier or a pattern is key. To early to say - he needs time. Bad culture inherited, decent players sold, no money to buy quality, A lot of young promising but not proven yet players. This doesnt miraculously change overnight.

 

It is a messageboard afterall and everyone is entitled to their opinions, but  my opinion is that too many on here driven by their own emotions and biases calling for his head before he had even started. Lets see how things are around christmas. Changing now is just a roll of the dice without any reasonable increase in probability of success because of the underlying context

On the flip side a lot of teams have established and settled squads and used to playing in this league - we are also fielding 4/5 youngsters a game, despite their promise they will be very up and down all season and most of them haven't played league football before.

Well he’s delivered on the culture front and not at all on the results. Sacking him for a manager that has a career GA figure closer to 1.00 and better PPG would reasonably increase the likelihood of success.

 

We lost 0-4 at home to Oxford precisely because of the manager and his methods. What if we give him more time and we’re just as bad, or even worse? We’ve binned half the season off with a manager who was predictably a poor fit.

If you are unsure whether Oxford was an outlier or a pattern just look at how their goals were scored.  We were carved up due to Martin's tactics

Burton was very similar. Notts County wasn't loads better in terms of performance.

Sorry to say but I just disagree with your message. 
my own bias before he arrived was down to his poor results, unwillingness to change his style of play and comes across incredibly arrogant with nothing really to show for it. 

Oxford for me, was not an outlier. Stockport was the outlier! Every game this season we give 5 chances to the opposition. Plymouth game McCarthy made 4 great saves. Stockport scored 3, 2 disallowed and hit the cross bar plus other chances near missed.  His tactics concede so many clear cut chances each game. Oxford just had the quality to score.
 

he did inherit a terrible culture, and lost one talented player in fatawu. But he also spent more than other league one clubs and gave huge contracts to Burns, Cullen and Chaplin. All 3 barely show anything to justify being signed.

 

i do have a perceived opinion that Martin is not the manager for us and after 2 months I have not seen anything for me to think I was incorrect. 
I would much prefer to have a manager like Challinor, someone who knows the league, gets a team hard to beat, plays for results not style, and builds a culture so when he leaves the club are in a good place.

This is something that Russell has alluded to. The problem is it's those youngsters that are consistently our best players, where as the experienced ones like McCarthy, Soutter, Thomas at al who are letting us down.

Was it an outlier when Russel's Southampton shipped 4 goals at home to us, 5 goals at the KP to us, and managed to blow a 2-0 lead at home to the absolutely honking Steve Cooper team? Seems to keep happening to him multiple times across many years now. Probably a fluke though, nothing to do with tactics or style of play though.

Like it or not Martin is here. He's not getting sacked any time soon. He's had about 6 real matches so far with very mixed performances and results. 

We know about the style. But he's at least willing to drop players and is fieldinga bunch of youngsters. 

At the moment it's pretty much impossible to look at anything happening in the world with positivity. Social media and algorithms are making all our lives a misery by endlessly promoting the bad.

Can we just, just for a little bit, not revel in every single thing we don't like about lcfc right now, and just try to see what happens without constant, never ending negative supposition, estimation and speculation.

I've been lurking on here for years. 

It's not naivety.

We're at what we hope is our lowest ebb as a club, an absolute shambles, but you might have noticed we don't actually have any effect on that. We can spend our lives going over and over negatives or we could look for whatever gaps in the clouds we can find while we wait to discover if there's any chance of a turn of trajectory.

The naivety is believing your online negativity has any use.

Considering the majority myself included didn’t want him as manager. 
Yes we won our last match but we did the best to fvck it up after being 4-1 up. 
So far we have failed to beat Notts County, MK Dons, Burton and been thrashed at home to Oxford. 
Not sure what there is to be positive about. 
We will continue to concede goals with him and his playing out from the back approach. 
Currently after 6 games we are mid table in league 1 having conceded more goals than we have scored. 
That’s pathetic whichever way you look at it. 
Yes the young players playing is a positive until he decides to throw them under the bus like he did after the Oxford match. 
We are going nowhere with this current ownership and with Martin in charge.
