Infantino is an unscrupulous individual who can only see $ signs.

 

He seems to think the way forward for world football is make it more like the American Super Bowl with all the razzmatazz that brings. No it is not!!

Europe should just boycott it. Let's start our own. It's not that difficult to sort out, most European countries have the infrastructure without having to build stadiums that will later be left empty. I'm sure the other world teams will come flocking when they realise the European countries won't be in FIFA's world cup anymore

My main concern is those ‘investment’ groups could then be used for political pressure to control who gets ‘invited’ to Participate  in the World Cup and who doesn’t . We don’t need Trump or his friends anywhere near the World Cup. It could basically be another way for the CIA to sit on the tailcoat of ‘ official FIFA World Cup business’ and expand its outreach and influence into some fringe nations too

I don’t understand what the fuss is all about. People placing bets shocker. You can bet on pretty much anything these days.

 

Polymarket is rife with "insider trading" bets / stakes. Wouldn't go anywhere near it

And still there's people who are in denial about corruption in world (and national) football.

 

Sadly the real fans and supporters of their national and league teams have no voice anymore except to change tack and support lower league and to stop giving money to the big and potentially corrupt clubs.

 

That's never going to happen as long as the likes of the PL, La Ligue, the Bundesliga etc and Sky, get the big crowds, the millions watching across the world and the big bucks that creates. Football has sold it's soul to corporate greed.

All quiet from the South American nations…  if they reject it too, then how hard would it be to hold an alternative World Cup? Or at least threaten one?

Surely if you sell some of it, you get a bump in money now for member nations but later lose out long term because you've sold some of your "business"?

I kind of love Sepp Blatter at the moment. The sheer brass balls of the guy.

 

Yes, you most definitely are on the right side of history with these recent statements but come on Sepp, our memories aren’t that short.

 

It’s like there’s a title for most corrupt, self-serving Swiss football administrator and he’s annoyed he no longer has it.
