Ignoring the obvious need for root and branch changes at the club at boardroom level, what does a successful season for us look like on the pitch this year?

We are most likely the best ever equipped club to compete at this level regardless of the financial issues we are facing.

For me, it has to be as comprehensive as a league and paint trophy double. League cup and FA cup are unfortunately no where near the capabilities of the club currently so not too fussed about them.

Anything else obviously represents the worst season in our 142 years and would be a dismal failure.

  • Significant boardroom changes.
  • Reverting to scouting for untested players with excellent stats.
  • Significant minutes for academy players.
  • A comfortable promotion.
  • Reasonable success in the FA Trophy.
  • Russell Martin showing he has learned from past mistakes.
  • A significant turnaround of playing squad. As many of the current squad out of the door as possible.
  • A breakthrough of at least 5 players that could perform to a high standard in the Championship in 2027/28.

I don't think any of that is unreasonable. In fact I'd say that a large part of those should be the minimum.

A good season would look like

Win the league

Win the EFL Trophy

If we got a record number of points and a massively long unbeaten run, that would be a fantastic season.

Bare minimum, is promotion by any means.

Anything other than promotion is a failure. Mind you, I said that last summer!

Tbf, wherever you set the bar last season would have been a failure.

This is true. I just guess I'll be happy with anything other than another relegation lol

Feeling something again, I am numb to it all. Win, lose. Hire, fire. Don’t care.

I think Martins’ teams are spineless and boring but I don’t even feel annoyed now he's hired it just happened. It all passes by in front of me with no reaction. I simply go with my friends for a day out now.

So to feel something again would be nice

A team of players that want to be part of LCFC first on the list after that it depends on the quality of the team so who knows?

I think:

Administration

Sell the club

Drain the swamp

Avoid League Two despite playing a young side.

Get promoted second year in League One

Win the championship with a young side

Qualify for Europe managed by Eddie Howe in 29/30

Eddie Howe leaves to manage England

England win th 2030 World Cup and 2032 Euros

Right now:

Promotion as Champions, 100+ points, the removal of as much deadwood as possible and the young players finally forming the spine of the team. With a few crucial peak age incomings wth the ability to step up to Championship level.

By the start of the season:

Promotion, staying in existence as a club
