Preston interested in a loan.

Eh? When has Oliver Skipp won the Premier League and Championship?!

Just get rid of him. We desperately need to move out all the senior players as their wages are crippling us. If we don't the consecquences don't bear thinking about.

Plus we have signed Chaplin & Cullen who I would imagine are on above average Div.1 wages

Don't tell anyone at Preston, the truth!

Selling your best player and captain to Wrexham for just £3m and then trying to replace him with Skipp has gotta suck for Preston fans

We are incredibly unlikely to be able to sell him because of the value left on him so hopefully we can get a loan fee and his wages covered

Then get Archie Collins in for free

The thing is, nobody is that good at Preston. Just well organized. Skipp is probably a better player tbqh and will do better there than he would here

Jesus.

Bet they'd only cover about half his wages.

presumably there would be a loan fee too, so a loan fee and half his wages off the books

But would that be half of last seasons wages or half of this seasons wages?

I mean, we need someone who would cover All of it, of course..

unless we can sell for more than his book value a loan with reduced wage costs might be the best we can do

Definitely need a powerful dominate midfielder.

heard a rumour of Ollie cooper but he has thankfully joined Notts county

Loan fee wouldn’t be anywhere near his amortised value this season so a loss on our books for 26/27

plus us paying a good portion of his wages

probably worth keeping him on that basis

loan fee doesn't need to beat his amortised value as he'd still be on our books its just added income

Doesn't say that.

"would add Premier League and Championship-winning experience to the Preston squad".

It's correct, the and is the important bit.

1) He has PL experience

And

2 He won the championship with Norwich.

Thanks for the clarification Pete. Well done on the tier 1 status. Keep up the good work!

Needs a loan.

I’m not against that but we also don’t know if he does, he’s 19 so could easily be in and around the squad this season, 50+ games to play this season - think RM really likes him from pre-season

Only if he isn’t being played. If he is kept to build the midfield around then no one has learnt anything.

We can’t have another season of Okoli, Skipp, Mav and Reid stinking the games.

A couple of million loan fee, 100% of his wages covered or forget it. He'll be more than ok in L1. There's players ahead of him in the queue that needs shifting first

We write down 20% of his fee (£5m) each season in the accounts
so he’s costing us 5m each season he’s here

if we get 2m for a season long loan then we’re down 3m on our p+l and we’ve not got the player.  Of course keeping him means we’re 5m down but at least he could make a contribution to our season.  Add in that we’re probably paying him 2m in wages and Preston wouldn’t go above 1.25m and you can see what a frigging mess we’re in!
