I understand the plan is for him to  join their first team for preseason to asses him fully and go from there- either loan or integrate him into the 1st team squad

Yep this is a whole new level of worse.

Mahrez still played for us for a number of years.
This is like we groom someone up, and then as soon as they ready, they gone, doesnt feel right at all.

 

The sport needs changing that requires academy players to stay at parent club for X years unless the club forfeits the right.

I just cant really become attached to any youth player, because with our current policy, the ones who are any good will be sold quickly to fund an inflated wage bill.
