City have a history of selling their youth for high profit so the best we can hope for is that he endss up going for big money.

We had no chance of keeping him with our regime and position

Yep completely agree. Basically own do the countries best young talents have been leveraged to cover the costs of a league 1 training ground.

12.5m (10+2.5m add on) plus sell on clause too.

Decent deal

Yep, this is what Ornstein reckons. Sell-on percentage not known :dunno:

No complaints really. Yeah would’ve been great to keep him but we’re a mess so let the lad go thrive in a better environment.

Think he showed enough when he first came into the side he’s got something.

Backfired on him? Left on a free and most likely got a large signing on fee and hefty wage increase at Villa.

Has won a European trophy, playing CL football and captaining Belgium at the WC.

Poor move for him lol

Plus he didn't have to move out of quorn 😂

Big thank you to Mr & Mrs Monga, all the best Jeremy, see you back here when you’re 35 🫡

On a 3 year 200k per week contract

Have to say thanks to Monga and family. Yes, the scholarship probably benefitted him and gave guarantees in the event of big injury etc, but it was clear he'd have interest. So to be able to get money like that will help us a lot, just as the club have invested a lot into his development.

100% agree here. Lots of people talk about Nyoni and pathways to football - he's not ripped it up at Liverpool. Getting a transfer fee at a young age has given Monga positive press and added to his status as a great up and coming talent. I hope its a model that many of the other highly regarded academy talents could follow.

Come on, don't be negative, we might draw them in the caraboa cup before then

Can't complain with that. The scholarship deal helped us massively so credit to Monga for taking somewhat of a gamble signing that.
Hope he gets a chance there, disappointing season for him in many aspects so would be good to see him get a loan out and a proper run at a stable club.

Man city have robbed us, and that so many think this is a good deal, have got used to the club being run so badly.

Monga will either become a successful player with them, or they will sell him for 40 million within a few years.

3rd largest fee for a 16yr old ever & with a sell on to bump that fee up in the future but we’ve had our pants down 🤷‍♂️ 🤨

Still keep hearing fans moaning saying things like "we always sell our youth talent" and " we always sell our best players".

Literally every team in the world does this unless you are Real Madrid. There is and always has been a pecking order. We are nowhere near the top of it and we dont have a choice but to sell players.

Its good that we are actually trying to get some money into the club as we cant keep being in a cycle of ffp charges and potential points deductions. £10m for Monga is decent, hoping that we also have a sell on clause in the deal.

There are many things to moan about our club, selling Monga for £10m isnt one of them.

I suspect he won't play for them for more than a few games, but might take the German route and do well there, so more $$ for us down the road.
