Get your mind out of the gutter

14/07 - France Vs Spain - 20:00

15/07 - England / Norway Vs Argentina / Switzerland - 20:00

I still think the winner comes from the winner of France / Spain.

Find it very hard to see anybody except France winning right now, although the beauty of the cup is it only takes one off day and they're out. Quite a run of dominance from them though, that's semi-finals three world cups in a row at worst.

I think in a weird sort of way, Spain are the only team that can beat France, but at the same time Spain can be beaten by any of the other teams left in the competition.

At this point, I think you could argue for any of France, Spain, Argentina, England, Switzerland or Norway and give a semi sensible reason.

I think France have deeper squad quality though.

England lose Bellingham or Kane and they are just irreplaceable.

Top 4 FIFA ranked sides into the last 4 of a FIFA tournament.

I'm worried that Mexico and now the Norway game in the heat and extra time will have drained the team, and now we have to play against Argentina. I know you have to beat the best to get to the final, but it also uses a lot more energy. If IF e somehow get to the final, France will be fresher than us, even though Spain will be a test for them. They seem to have glider through the tournament.

France are still the heavy favourites, imo.

It will be interesting to see if Deschamps reverts to type (from earlier in his reign) and takes out one of the 4 attacking line to sure up the midfield, which Spain will dominate, probably still will even if France add an extra man in there.

I agree, Spain can do France (again, as have done recently, put 5 past them in their last meeting ~1y ago).

Do wonder if Argentina will be tired after having to do 2 extra times.

Spains tourney now anyway. Cut above.

Probably the last thing both teams wanted is extra time but guess it’s even there .

Fortunately the semi final is in an aircon stadium.

All this to probably lose to that French attack or get out passed by Spain again

France have yet to be tested. Morocco should have been a test, but they just didn’t show up on the day, Saibari being out didn’t help.

There’s no question that historically we are owed a hell of a lot of luck against the Argies at a WC.

But you just know something incredibly dodgy is going to happen in this game that favours them.

And following the corruption with the US, and the incredible luck the Argies keep getting, there’s bound to be some horrific injustice take place.

Blimey you couldn't have asked for better semis.

France best team of the tournament with some fecking great players.

Like a Canelo in terms of Boxing.( Stick with me here!!)

Spain just ticking into form and so technically gifted.

Like Sugar Ray Leonard.

England workmanlike and have Jude n Kaney boy, still feck up in defence now and again though.

Like a Tyson Fury.

Argies are jammy bastards, over the hill GOAT but are like slugger who just dont know when they are down.

Like a Mike Tyson!!

Anyone  can win!!!

Fortunately the cheating 'Hand of God' won't be playing.

I don’t think VAR will rig it again in favour of Messi. England is a huge driver of viewership compared to the nations Argentina has faced.

At the end it’s about revenue, I think VAR will be neutral for once when it comes to Argentina (Messi).

Are people being tongue in cheek when they say things like this?

For those of us of a certain age (old farts like me) the news today of the death of Antonio Rattin brings back memories of an earlier Argentina, one that we beat. An omen?

England will beat Argentina pretty comfortably imo. Argentina are nothing special, some genuine world class players in a team of otherwise 'meh.'

I know the Norway performance was underwhelming but it was also like 90000% humidity and a "feels like" 40+ degrees.

Aren't the semis all in air conditioned stadiums? Whether you'll beat France or Spain is another matter but I'd be genuinely surprised if you aren't in the final.

No I’m being serious. I’m wagering they’ll be fair this time. What’s your thoughts?
