Just having a chat with someone at work about the player of the tournament for this World Cup and our opinions were vastly different, so I thought I’d put my top 3 in here and see everyone else’s. 
obviously there’s 3 huge games to go, but so far unless someone does something amazing in the next two this is the 3.

 

1. Michael Olise - I think he’s been pure class every game and a huge reason France have brought it all together.

2. Jude Bellingham - in the big moments Hey Jude has risen to a whole new level.

3. Rodri - the best Spanish player by far, and the main reason they are still alive in this tournament. 
 

If everyone does a 1,2,3 and I’ll use the votes before the semi final to announce an official FoxesTalk Player of the tournament.

It'll depend who wins it and what happens in the next two games but I suspect that if France win then it'll be Mbappe, if Argentina win it'll be Messi and if England win it'll be Bellingham.

 

I don't think anyone from Spain has particularly impressed and if they beat Spain then I suspect the POTT will be either Messi or Bellingham.

Bit early to call it let's be honest. 

 

Few honourable mentions for the likes of Julian Quinones, Vozinha and Brahim Diaz who obviously won't win it but were standouts. 

 

But realistically it's just Mbappe isn't it? He's been ****ing ridiculous. Kane, Bellingham, Dembele, Haaland, Messi, yeah yeah, quite a few big names have turned up. You wouldn't be mad at any one of them getting it. 

 

But if it was being given out now it'd be Mbappe and rightly so. He's been insane.

100%. They've obviously got so many bloody phenomenal footballers who have been brilliant and the best player shouldn't just be measured on goals, but Mbappe has always seemingly been the one to really be the difference in their trickier games, he's broken the deadlock in every one of their knockout ties. If you're standing out in that front four who've all been ****ing class then you're the best player in the tournament imqho

I imagine the player of the tournament will come from the team that wins it : 

France - Mbappe.

Argentina- Messi.

England - Kane/Bellingham.

Spain - ?

Too early to call it. Bellingham has to be up there though, has consistently made the biggest difference to his team as an individual.

I agree with this, I'd guess Merino if Spain wins. Hard to say when there's still two games to play.

 

Speaking of Spain, best young player will almost certainly go to Lamine Yamal (undeservedly imo) or Cubarsi, although I think Manzambi from Switzerland would have cleaned it up if he didn't get injured before the RO16/QFs.
