Remember in the 1990s when some chancer called Ali Dia managed to con his way into playing for Southampton in the premier league. Something like, he pretending he was George Weah’s cousin.

Well, most of this team looks like that has happened. Like the club is one big prank.

Yessss. I remember.  If you listen to an agent and sign someone on the strength of a few vid clips.......

Also look up a book or vid about Carlos Kaiser.....The best footballer that never was.....it is genuinely almost unbelievable

The choice of image on the match report killed me. Everyone looks lost in their own special way.

Faes looks like he’s trying to remember what his FoxesTalk password was.

Not even taking the piss but the 3 youngsters look like they're engaged with what's going on, and then the 3 'senior pros' look like they aren't paying attention at all. A picture paints a 100 words and all that. Grim.

He didn't acknowledge us at the start of the game and  didn't seem too fussed at the final whistle.

Some of the youngsters impressed, particularly Alvez.

RM came over to the fans at the end for chat, photis etc.

Pleasant evening in the West Country.

Choudhury looks like he’s just remembered he left the oven on.

Not sure why anyone is surprised, it's been happening for years hence the reason we are complete and utter shit and in league 1.

The surprising thing is people bothering to watch these absolute wasters.

CB playing LB for minutes i guess was never going to be bombing down the LW but shuffle across to make a 3 when the RB goes inverted or down the wing

I know it’s extremely early days, but I’m pretty confident we’ll do the quadruple under Russell Martin this season.

Relegated

In administration

Record League One goals conceded

Record wage bill in League One

I thought Faes looked like he was just going through the motions in that game. Not really engaged or striving to show his value or leadership, complete opposite to the youngsters. Awful example to those players around him.

Feels to me he is playing a completely different system to everyone else. I fail to believe he is playing any system Martin has asked them to. Playing his trademark long balls and roaming around the pitch.

Got caught out of possession brilliantly as well.

Glad you cleared that up, your thoughts are straight out of Russell’s brain, everyone else’s that differ are bullshit

I mean I have evidence for what I'm saying - Faes has been made captain of the club after years of treating us like twats.

Where is there any evidence of this esoteric message sending like Martin is some polymath of symbolism.

You need to take your face for a shit Hank.

I swear Vietes had be released?

It seems as if he's our latest Conrad Logan, Jakupovic or Alex Smithies re his third in line permanent bench warmer keeper credentials in all his time here so far, which manager signed him? - Cooper? That looks set to continue now with us just signing McCarthy from yes, you guessed it - Saints!

Ironically whilst you’re talking shit, do you think being made captain holds any significance anymore let alone in a friendly.

Is Martin the first to choose someone that sets a poor example as a captain?

Maybe making him captain is because Martin wants to show him he wants him around and values him, which doesn’t come as a complete shock given the fact we are in a league one

I guess your preference would be for someone for the younger players to look up to who leads by example perhaps,  like Choudhury.

My preference aligns with that of Wout Faes. For him to never play for my club again.

It's more than just a friendly or the context. If Martin had done even a smidge of research he'd know what Faes has done and said to this club. He's insulted the club and presided over 3 relegations. He doesn't need to be the captain of Leicester in any context.

We've had 3 or 4 managers worth of 'fresh starts' and the rebuilding of trusts. How has that gone? We're doing okay right?

It's more than just being a captain in a meaningless friendly and if you can't see that I can't help you anyways. You're too far gone.

Yes of course it is.

Or maybe just another excuse to moan before a ball has been kicked in a league game. Maybe give the bloke a chance before getting your knickers in a twist.

“Pre-season I wouldn't get too caught up in it," he said after the win on Tuesday night. "We had two different captains on Saturday and two different ones tonight”
