No decent businessmen goes public now. Citibank will be seeking interested parties for another couple of weeks yet and they won’t stop looking even if there’s bids on the table.
 

There’s no point looking up these tyre kickers until someone has been chosen with an exclusivity clause. 
 

The only reasons he’s gone public is because he needs to gather some kind of public support or he’s fishing another member to the consortium. Basically not got the money in other words

They will also have a strict timeframe, something like;

 

xx date - All LOI's received

xx date - 1st round bids - deselect and proof of funding

xx date - 2nd round bids 

xx date - final bids and timeframe to completion

 

Presumably they are running an auction type sale, they might find they go exclusive with one party if a) the price is right and b) they can deliver quickly. They might take a small haircut on the price if they get reassurances on the funding early doors and it will go to completion rather than collapse at the last minute.

I’d imagine the time is quite quick if King Power need funding and also to potentially save some face to the outside world.

 

Could see this all being in place by December, with the Football Association taking another 6 months to approve etc.

 

If that is the case, we’ll see no  January / winter transfer spend, contract renewals etc, so we could just be spinning the wheels. It could be a pretty bleak season.

Quite easily - if we exchange before Xmas then the buyer can put conditions in between exchange and completion which means we are constrained on everything including player spending, or within certain thresholds. 

 

Depends how clever they and citi play it, if there is only one game in town they will need to convince that bidder there are a few others over their shoulder to keep the competitive tension going to get it done quickly and under the best terms possible.

Yeah i imagine it'll start fairly soon if that prospectus has been knocking about for a while. I would also imagine there's a timeframe King Power have in mind, something must have changed their end from top saying he won't sell to being where we are now so I'm wondering if they want out sooner rather than later.
