Wymsey was the first to call Steve Cooper & also Odsonne Edouard, judging by the success of those 2 we should expect Chansiri or Mike Ashley at Seagrave shortly

This is absolutely spot on

My head canon for this is that Wymsey's connected relative is a Leicester fan and whoever they get their information from definitely isn't and only likes to keep them in the loop to troll them when the news is ****ing hideous lol

Chelsea have spent £349 million pounds this transfer window not bad for a team allegedly going bust, like most articles in the media it's clickbait nonsense.

You reckon these financial journalists with their investigations, facts and figures are less reliable than your hunch?

22 Holdco and BlueCo have borrowed £1.4bn since 2022. A £794m loan is due 2027. They’ve had record breaking losses and don’t have Champions League incomes next season.

Will they go bust? Probably not because they’ll sell Liam Delap’s toenails to themselves for something like £5bn.

However anyone rightly worried about debt racked up by King Power would be insane to be pro Boehly coming in.

Find this hard to believe, especially as they are spending more this season than they ever have even buying ageing talent in Henderson and Welbeck.

A reputable football journo appearing on guardian football weekly podcast suggested they have borrowed a lot of money (north of £1bn) on an interest only repayment basis and at very high interest rates well in excess of 10%, and that the debt repayments are imminently going to become a serious issue that will threaten the club on the pitch as well as off it.

Thought this was about LCFC on first glance...

Wouldn't have been a surprise if it was, anyway!

Don’t think it will be long before football has to undergo and complete financial rethink. It can’t keep going like this. Money is actually killing the game, not making it better - or at least the current levels of spending and debt are.

People have said this for most of 35 years in this country since the induction of the Premier League, I don’t think football in the UK is at its full limit in terms of spending yet.

The NFL and NBA dwarf the Premier League currently, with so much American influx coming into the game in this country, their prerogative will be to bring our sport in line with theirs in terms of commercial value.

I wouldn't pay too much thought to how potential owners will feel about the location of the club - let's face it, wrexham is hardly beverly hills.

For most americans, they don't even know the difference between cities, countries and continents - let alone whether Leicester is glamourous or not. additionally, any owner would consider leicester almost a suburb of london - the distance from the south of LA to the north is the same as from london to brighton.

Thats the kind of ridiculously audacious decision making we need….. cash flow problems? No problem, sell SK1 to a sister company for £5b….

Todd Boehly has more nous how to run a football club than Top has in his little finger.

In fairness, that project was a bit different. The guys aren't multi billionaires, they knew they were going in to non league football to buy a smaller, provincial team.

They also had the encouragement of Humphrey Ker who was getting them to buy in to the romance of fan culture and British football.

To top it off, Wrexham are Welsh, play in the national teams colours and have Red Dragons as part of their club identity.

Americans love a bit of Celtic heritage and pretending to be anything other than descended from the English.

If it wasn't for 15/16 and 5000/1 we'd have virtually nothing to appeal what so ever to people outside of our own region, let alone the UK. We're about as unfashionable as a club can be.

The FT is subscription-based and is one of the few newspapers that actually makes a profit. Its reputation is built on serious reporting—it doesn't publish clickbait nonsense.

Boehly is insane but he bought one of the biggest football clubs in the world and then prided himself in spending loads of money on the most famous "wonderkids" in the sport.

Everything he did at Chelsea was flashy and gimmicky. He's not buying a League One club from a nothing, provincial East Midlands city is he?

He is also a control freak with an ego. He currently doesn’t have full control at Chelsea, he is the name people think of but he is part of a lot of cooks in the kitchen and he’s not happy about it.

it may sound odd but he also bought Trent rockets… hardly flashy or gimmicky if he sees potential he could absolutely be interested if he is selling his Chelsea stakes.

I think he’d love the idea of rising a team through the ranks. If he thinks he could get us back in the prem then it’s certainly possible

all the things we had in the pipeline with the extended stadium and fan zone with concerts etc… is right up the American street. But…. When he digs into to the numbers it suddenly loses appeal.

You can't really say it's 'different' as we, as yet, have nothing to compare it with - there's no reason why we wouldn't end up being bought by similar types (i mooted here a swift/kelce buy out - not beyond the realms of possiblity).

And your last comment is exactly why we could be picked up in a similar 'show biz' deal - we ARE a known quantity, we do have the 7th biggest social media bit in england, we aren't just an ordinary provincial mediocre club.   There's no greater example of the "romance of fan culture and British football" than 15/16.  And thus why we ARE still a big draw to potential investors, probably why the valuation is unusually high for a L1 club.

Not that we need celebrities to transform us into something interesting, 15/16 has already done that.  If you look at the club as an outsider, investors who haven't been polluted by the local toxicity - there's a lot to be said for us a cheap purchase with great possibilities.

you realize you’re asking for worldwide agreement on any future plan don’t you? The best players will always go where the money and prestige is. Any European agreement or south American agreement will only see the re-emergance of the Chinese league or the strengthening of the Saudi league and maybe the emergence of other middle eastern leagues. That will only put clubs more in the crapper even more as the massive tv rights will disappear  to other leagues.

i hate what money has done to football , but I don’t see a way back from the path we are on..

I don't actually think this holds up any more to be honest. This has been a popular brag amongst our fanbase for a while.

Modern statisticians looking at social media data don't arbitrarily look at simply follower counts and leave it at that. Generally speaking, people very rarely un-follow something they've followed. The vast majority of our "followers" are people that pressed one button, once, ten years ago and haven't engaged with LCFC since.

The data will show that. This idea that we're the 7th most popular club in England is just silly and make believe.
