It will depend on the business we complete over the next couple of weeks but as it stands I expect it to be one of McCarthy, Chaplin or Cullen, there is a reason we have identified and signed these type of characters.

Not sure Hamza even makes the team (hopefully) - it's a massive no from me for Hamza. Poor role model and is he someone fellow professionals respect? At best an average L1 player. All I can say in his favour is that he didn't hide last year and had the balls to engage with supporters when they were on the team's back.

We need a player with no connection with the team over the past few seasons... a strong leader .... not got to be a great player .... an organiser.... lead by example .. a talker ... finger pointer .... this will make the difference to our season

I did think it was bound to be Hamza, but the fact he's passing it around to everyone pre season might suggest he hasn't decided yet or each game was like an audition to see who would be best.

 

If Nelson was definitely staying I'd give it him but he will be probably be sold before the end of August.

No way it’s hamza - martin has already seen straight through him and Thomas - it will be someone new that sets good examples - probably waiting for the centre half signing of a leader of some sort

WTF....As others have said he's  done nothing to warrant  the captaincy. He's  not a leader ,his tackling is reckless, no progressive  play in any of his passing ,just cause he's  local means **** all ,him and Thomas  would be the last to be chosen as captain. Blimey  when you think of some of the captains we've  had in the past this bunch aren't  fit to lace  their boots .
