Not Nelson for me. Doesn't strike me as a leader of men and simply hasn't done anything in his career to suggest he can lead by example. He may well get to that point but he's far too green just yet.

Any leader would know that it simply cannot be a player who has been part of a consecutive relegations, unless they were exceptional under such circumstances.

Hamza should be nowhere near the captains armband, to be fair he should be nowhere near the team.....way overpaid for his ability and contributions over the last few years.

Desperate for a redemption arc, he’s learned from his mistakes and for all his faults, can be inspirational on a pitch.  There is not a midfielder anywhere that tackles like him and the lift it provides when he does, is so good.

 

He is a local lad so for christ sake, make him a fvck!ng hero.

To be honest, I think the reverse of this is true; he strikes me as someone who has consistently failed to learn from his mistakes.

 

Should be nowhere near the captaincy IMHO - he's not consistent enough, he's rarely been trusted to be a regular starter under any of our recent managers and the evidence would suggest he lacks the professionalism required to be club captain and to set standards.

 

I think it sends out all of the wrong messages, to players and supporters, if Hamza is made skipper (IMHO). It's irrelevant that he's a local lad - he's hardly represented the club with pride at numerous points in his Leicester career.

 

Although he probably will finally be playing at about his level in League 1 - I will say that.
