Really good first half but poor second tbh. Reid and Mavididi need to go. Reid is totally past it and Mavididi is a waste of space; he's lacking any intensity and every time he gets the ball he takes way too many touches before laying it off backwards or losing possession.

Swap Reid and mavididi for chaplain and alves and sign a cb it’s something to work with. Cullen whilst quiet seems to be in the rate place to get shots away unlike Ayew. 
 

add in Watson to the attacking areas too and it should look better. McFarlane hopefully comes in to rival Thomas when he’s up to speed with the squad etc.  
 

May main issue at the minute is a dominant new cb, and an out and out number 9. 
 

my other concern is how we play if teams sit in and sit back, but il worry about that when it happens

The commentators did make the point that Genoa made a lot of changes at half time while we made none. It is not surprising that we were getting a bit scruffy in the second half.

No, or Malaga, but I still worry that the results may be the same. The one thing that makes me think we will be ok is the attitude of the players, which seems to  be much better than at the end of last season.

Dominant 1st half, but then Nelson gets injured and Luke gets moved to CB. Woyo looked good higher up the pitch but is too loose to be trusted as a LB. Bobby isn't a striker, but we all knew that, yet Russell played Cullen as a 10 (supposedly our new striker) and bobby as a 9. That's not his fault, that's on Russell. If he sees Cullen as a 10, Otchere has to play as the striker.
