I’ve always had a take it when’s the you don’t get opportunities or in positions you should worry about a player or team. He created and got into a few decent positions but does seem to have a worse strike of the ball and BDCR, which does make me a little sick in the mouth.

i do honestly think Riley Carr should be playing instead or at least be an option. Hopefully on Tuesday Carr will play and prove himself

His strikes were limp lettuce yesterday. However, we he had his first sub appearances he showed he is capable of putting some welly behind them. He's only a young lad, no more than some of the rest of the team. He's going to blow hot and cold. It's going to be frustrating to watch players who do that. But it's not because he's not trying.  I think he deserves more an arm on the shoulder approach, rather than 'yer shit, **** off back to brighton' approach.

Not really, I would prefer Howell being dropped for Cullen over Alves.

We don't have enough goal scorers in the team, so I understand RM playing Cullen over Howell and this has been proven correct with 2 in 2, but should be 3 in 2.

I watched the highlights again, at 1-0 up Alves, Braybrooke, had good chances to score. Lundstram also had a good chance 2nd half, but couldn't control and then Cullen should have scored with the best chance of them all.

The first 3 aren't natural scores, RM has built a team of similar  technicians but only Riis looks like he'll score more than 15 this season.

I really like Alves, Braybrooke and Page, I'll give RM credit for playing them but they have got to start scoring regularly to repay the faith he has shown in them.

As usual we dominate possession, create maybe 2/3 big chances, only take 1 and gift the opposition a goal.

KDH never looked like scoring double figures us until Enzo played him further up, they’re all capable of getting 5-10 (or more) but it requires more aggression and attacking risk - which Martin won’t do.

Alves and Braybrooke are getting chances in this RM formation.

Alves missed a sitter yesterday and I think if the Braybrooke chances falls to Riis it's in the back of the net.

Yeah that Alves chance was quite a bad miss when you watch it back; you wonder how he didn’t hit the target.

You could also argue his final balls for Riis in the first half and Cullen in the second could have been better placed and ended up making their chances much, much harder to take.

Can you imagine if Watson had been guilty of those moments as well?

Now, personally, I’m not venting anger at Alves or Watson for their performances; because I’m well aware that they’re still young players, have not played a lot of league football and will make mistakes.

You can’t expect players to be anywhere close to the finished article when they’re under the age of 22, in league one - mean, I don’t think either of them have made 50 career appearances yet?

What’s more important to me is whether they’re trying to do the right things - and I think both generally are.

The couple of things I’ve identified with Watson was his unwillingness to go on the outside (appearances prior to the Barnsley game - he seemed more willing yesterday) and then a tendency to drift inside with his runs too early.

For me, it’ll be interesting to see how he comes out of the international break; he’ll get a bit more coaching time with us and will have had more time to settle into his new surroundings.

Would have been a ****ing brilliant goal. He just didn't get his feet right in his head let alone in practice. What he was even trying to do was awkward.

I'm not slating Alves, I like him and think he's been our best player this season. Just saying he's getting chances to score in this system.

It's as if he was completely caught out the ball actually reached him.

Im fairly sure thought the defender was going to deal with it. Little did he realise, the defender had no idea Alves was behind him.

I wasn’t intending to either, Alves has been brilliant so far this season, but as this is the Watson thread and he’s getting pelters for off the bench cameo’s I thought it worth drawing some comparisons between the two.

I get it - Watson hasn’t provided any sort of end product so far this season to get people on side; but he’s hardly had any meaningful minutes too.

I wouldn’t give up on him just yet. In some of the early games I thought he looked a good prospect. I think the break and chance to sort things out and get a bit more settled and confident might help.

Needs a goal involvement to build a bit of momentum. His career has definitely stalled and it's not that he isn't good enough for at least this level, but he needs the platform to start again.

He's so far behind Alves in the way he functions in this team currently but at the same time, a couple of goal contributions and suddenly he's going to be putting him under pressure for a starting spot. Hopefully Martin can rebuild his confidence.

He has a style about him that makes him look out of his depth but I think he's just quite affable and laid back type player.

I don't think the style of play suits him as much as it does for Alves.

Alves is a Grealish-type dribbler. Wants to get on the ball and drive at the opposition and that sort of player always looks good in a possession team.

Watson seems the sort to want to get the ball, knock it past the fullback and put a cross in. I'm not convinced he's got the pace needed to play like that. This is quite a physical league and most players are quite quick in wide positions.

Yeah I agree, which is no coincidence Burns also looks absolutely appalling at this level in this team. Part of it is that they're coming up against low blocks in a possession heavy team but there's a distinct lack of pace.

Watson just needs to focus on the basics currently, he made some intelligent inside balls but doesn't seem to have the mindset he's then going to get back on the end of it and hurt the opposition. Delivery on crosses and more composed shooting and he'll start to make an impact.

Yeah Burns and Watson look like they want to be speedy wingers but neither have any pace and it's not like they're Albrighton when they've got the chance to swing a cross in.

My head fell off on Saturday right at the end when Burns had the chance (though luck) to put a cross in and it pea-rolled straight to the defender marking the front post.

He's still young. Brighton spent £10m on him and as their recruitment team don't get many wrong, there might well be a bright future ahead for him.

On Saturday, however, he was so bad that he didn't even look like a footballer.

Maybe it's a Leicester thing.

When he was here, Harry Kane looked like a university student who had filled the wrong form in. But see how he turned out.

Oh really didn’t see much of him last season. But I do think coming to Leicester with everything that’s going on it’s just a shithole atmosphere
