We got our Leicester back

92.8% pass accuracy is a damning stat. Screams of a team who dare not play the riskier pass.

Let’s be realistic here, we’re not the finished article… not by a long shot.

We won, got a clean sheet and the academy players produced some good bits of play. There were and are going to be mistakes in this style of play but not overly worried right now. We do need a proper striker and not BDCR, we can’t rely on him. We need to move Skipp out and put Braybrooke in that position as he looks so much more comfortable dictating the game whereas as that isn’t Skipp. I look forward to getting our new ST in and hopefully adding some much needed physicality.

As much as people want free-flowing fast attacks, myself included it will take time. We will have games where that happens and others won’t.

We dominated, actually managed to string more than 3 passes together and were the dominant team. Yes, I know we nearly messed up in defence… but we didn’t.

He’s not played 8 whole pre season lol

Give Russell time. We don't need him on the Wing, We need his creativilty in the middle. But not chasing up and down the pitch.

I had my doubts about Martin, but he is rising in the ranks of most successful Leicester managers. Now just 1 win behind Rowett and 2 behind Cooper. Andy King's caretaker spell already well and truly passed.

Lads calm the **** down it's 1st round of the EFL cup. Got through, who gives a shit.

Mavididi can **** off though.

Because we don’t look very good.

I think ten games is the minimum we should give the manager and squad time to prove themselves. The trouble is that it is too late for some players. Mavadidi,Faes,BDCR and hopefully Thomas and Choudary need to move on. We desperately need a big blokes up front.

I’m surprised a lot of us are surprised

Whilst the signings made do feel slightly different this time round, they’re still unproven in a Leicester shirt

Over the last 6 years we’ve had signings who looks good on paper who end up never playing, signings who look good on paper who turn out to be shite, signings that look good on paper that end up with long term injuries.

We’ve got a manager who literally every fan from his other clubs have come on and said how great game he talks, but it ends up being all fart and no sh*t

There is absolutely no way we get promoted this season, in my opinion. But this was all part of the anger of coming down in the first place.

Funnily enough the CBs both gave the ball away plenty, and against better opposition, we've had conceded. That's the same wherever Russell's been, especially his Southampton team. He loves possession, but CBs giving the ball away leading to goals, he just shrugs his shoulders.

These players were never meant to play out from the back.

And thats the problem.

When we have a manager that only plays one way.

What a shocking game  Martin just does not have a clue

Would love to know what your coaching qualifications are and what exactly would you do to improve us?

Good to win, but it’s just laughable and boring to play this style of football in league 1.

What fun is there in watching us do 800+ passes, keep the ball for 80% of the game, but do **** all with it?

Draining but early days one would hope.. best players were our academy lot. Their development will be the main thing keeping me interested.

Anybody half decent will then be cherry picked by clubs in the 2 divisions above us. You can forget premier league for a looong, looong time.....if ever.

Jeez, never seen such a negative fanbase. Team not the finished article undergoing a full playing style change. Managers just had his first game, what’s saying how he’s out of his depth going to achieve.

Players clearly want to play for him with who we’ve been signing when they should be going to teams a division higher, get a striker in and get behind the team and we will go up automatically.

Realistically we’re operating on a tight budget and having to be more creative in the window none of which is Martins doing. Saying he’s out of his depth is laughable, he’d walk into a championship job.

Probably the same fans who said Brendan Rodgers was the worst thing that ever happened to the club.

Suggest you go back and look at the xg for the first 5 or 6 games, created very little, against Cov, Cardiff and Hull at home, same Huddersfield and Rotherham away.

Think its to early to panic.

Coventry 1.64

Huddersfield 1.02

Cardiff 1.70

Rotherham 1.40

It wasn't 'good' but it wasn't as concerning as that. Not a single chance created from open play and worryingly we gave a pretty good one away - something you could see happening a lot with these defenders as well if they're playing how Martin instructs.

Maybe the difference is Martin will realise this and address it. Cifuentes never did.

This is where you lose any credibility whatsoever.

He’s the reason we’re having a EFL Cup R1 fixture in the first place

Even as a PL side we had loads of crap LC and FA Cup performances.

A win more minutes in players legs.

Exactly this - it was never going to take much for the abuse to start was it - and we actually won the game - imagine the state of it in here if we had lost 😂😂

onwards and upwards - couple more in - couple more out and give the gaffer time to work with the players we will play the season with

People saying we aren't the finished article?? Strap in chaps as it's as good as it's going to get!

Slow, boring, side to side with players that look terrified to have the ball.

He is and he isn't.

I believe that he was the catalyst behind this club's downfall, but this ownership allowed for it to happen. The buck ultimately stops there.

Sorry but not seeing that. Braybrooke was good in pre-season, but he gave the ball away time and time again today, kept turning back and took way too many touches. The same could be said for every player who took part today.

The only player who played well was Skipp, and only because he was never under any real pressure so he had all the time in the world to turn and pick his pass. Watson I will give you was good when he came on, but we didn't see enough of him to really comment. But no one on that pitch was impressive, even for the low standards we set for ourselves these days.

If a team is going to play possession football, then the speed at which the ball is moved is the key to it working. It doesn't need to be fast all the time, but when you make your move, it's got to be a series of first time passes that are fast and accurate to cut the opposition apart. Every player on our team took at minimum 3 touches every time they received the ball and it meant that every move we made was over before it ever began. Given we had drinks breaks, it's disappointing that the manager didn't also see this and tell them to speed it up. If we tried to play the ball quickly but lost it because of misplaced passes, that would have been better at this stage of the season than taking too many passes for me. What I saw today was concerning...

If you didn’t think Braybrooke played well today then I don’t know what to tell you.
