SB87_LCFC Posted 1 September Posted 1 September I think someone said on here a few weeks back they saw in him in the pub and he said it's up the club if they sell Lad I work with said he was in a box at the United/Ipswich game, but that can be perceived in one of two ways, given he is a fan. I think pretty much the entire academy bar Braybrooke and Joseph have been told if a bid comes your off.....sad times
Claudio Fannieri Posted 1 September Posted 1 September The issue is we are desperate for money so if we can’t shift some for the deadwood like Faes, Okoli, Skipp etc then the club may decide to cash in. Imagine the atmosphere tonight when these 3 still haven’t left and Page isn’t in the matchday squad as he has had to be sacrificed to try and keep the lights on……..

If Manchester United bid 12.5m and a straight loan back to us would we accept that?
FrankieADZ Posted 1 September Posted 1 September if Page goes i think it will be more than likely at the end of the season, where he signs for Utd but stays hes for the season but becomes a Utd player on 1st July 27, like many other prem teams have done before that would be best for both clubs and the player

However, it's less clear what benefit there would be for us in compromising on the price we want (and which they so far have failed to meet).

Unless they give us a promising young player such as Lacey?
HarryDee8 Posted 1 September Posted 1 September (edited) Rudders should say he ain't for sale and we don't need the money. Simple! Man u and arsenal can look elsewhere Edited 1 September by HarryDee8

There's no indication we need to sell to balance the books. We may need to sell in order to fund further acquisitions, but I don't see the point in letting arguably our best player go & leave us very weak in a key position simply in order to add back-up in other areas. 1

One season (or even 4 months) won't push that up too high. If the price was £4-5m then i'd agree but it sounds like we're firm on a good price for him.

Depends if we have factored that we would highly likely be selling players like Souttar, Faes, Okoli and Skipp etc into our budgets and now at this stage we are £Xm light and therefore have to cash in on Page.
Tuna Posted 1 September Posted 1 September Irritating seeing this trending. I don't think it will happen BTW.

I think under SCMP our finances have been monitored by the EFL on an ongoing basis, which is why we were only allowed to make modest outlays on transfer fees once we generated a significant amount in sales. They likely wouldn't have permitted us to spend any money based on a vague promise of future sales, so I imagine as things stand we're compliant.

st albans fox Posted 1 September Posted 1 September (edited) If skipp isn’t leaving and lundstrom is coming then page would be mad not to push for an exit. But I don’t think he can be loaned out elsewhere by them so perhaps staying put with an understanding that he can leave next summer is on the cards of course a failure to move on Faes may mean we have to get a deal through in this seasons finances Edited 1 September by st albans fox
Finnegan Posted 1 September Posted 1 September Ben Jacobs is horrific at the best of times but on deadline day I swear he's just got Chatgpt hooked up mass generating vaguely plausible tweets. 1

Good incentive for a performance tonight for a lot of players, perform or get dropped for one of the newbies
Salieri Posted 1 September Posted 1 September Keeping Page this season is absolutely imperative. No doubt he will be off in the summer though, even if we somehow managed to go up. 1
