I know, it just irks me. Clubs are so averse and cowardly towards academy players. It's so backward.

If Alves, Braybrooke, Joseph, Aluko and Page ( if he's still here) don't get plenty of minutes I would agree.

As it stands we are going to have 2 x 21 years, 1 x 20, 1 x 19, and 1 x 17 with less the 100 league apps between them.

I think that reasonable.

I have more issue with not blooding the youth in the PL season when we were 100% going to go down anyway.

Alves is a crock

Page leaving

Good cover, hope this guy has a good season like a Jordan James impact.

If he has half the impact of JJ we will be very happy. Welcome aboard though Harry, wish you all the best.

selling page just doesn’t seem right. If now is not the time to give the youngster minutes there never will be.

Maybe Louie wants to go

Could be a smart tactic because he might not be ready for the prem for a good few years but he could be quality and an even bigger future star so on promotion it would be an easy re loan.

Of course he does, hes not going to turn down Man U. We just need to protect our interests and ensure we get a decent fee

From what he’s said earlier in pre season, he doesn’t seem to be a type to force a move. I might be wrong, but if he does goes it’s because we received crazy bid -£15m+

He'll be the 6th Harry I can think of in recent times. Can anyone get the other five?

Four easy but I think one is pretty difficult.

I'm gonna lock onto this guy and claim he's great despite him ending up playing like 4 games for us in League One, and double down when others point out that he couldn't get gametime because he was mid at best.

I guess what I'm saying is Astrit Adjarevic was decent

Born and raised in Brighton, so probably has a place around there.

He lived in Brighton prior to taking the job. Heard him discuss it on a YouTube video that he lives there and has good connections with a couple of people in Brighton’s department.

Agre with this.

Alves is stalled. Page is off, sacrificed for finances. So bringing in someone described as a 'wonderkid' who has already been blooded at Premier League level and Eng U19 level to the squad is no bad thing.

If by end August / Sept we have:

Drained the swamp of 90% of our relegation experts

Been sold to a big investor

Started the season solidly

this will have been the best pre season in years.

If you did a best of Leicester XI you probably said "who" about all of them before they got in the first team.

True, in general we’ve never spent big money well, going all the way back to a highly rated Brian Alderson from Cov in the 70’s who flopped badly imo.

It’s going to take much longer than that to sell us, particularly with the sale being a portfolio of assets and not just the club.

I agree with a lot of the comments on here though. I’ve just seen his YouTube reel and he looks really good, but it does make you wonder why our own lads who have equally good YouTube reels from same youths levels aren’t being given a go. It can only be that Page is being sold, and they don’t trust Alves to be a first team regular as this guy looks like he plays in a similar area.

But I also agree on your wider point. This is the reset we’ve been craving for years. We now need to use this as an opportunity to start again with a fresh slate, and for example not dish out stupid contracts next season if we’re to get promoted. But I have no faith while Rudkin is around. There’s also a few more donkeys to put out to pasture like BCDR etc.

I think it's exactly that. Alves can't be relied upon despite being same profile as Howell at 18 before injury. Page is not committed long term for clear reasons and so his value might be realised earlier than the club would ideally have wanted.

Howell does bring one big advantage to the team - he's a left footed right winger (ie the Fatawu replacement). There are no other natural left footers in the squad, even Burns and Alves who play right wing, are right footed.

Feels pretty clear Alves was doing a job on the RW while we bought Burns and Howell in. Can see him competing with Watson for the LW now. Just need Mavididi and even Bobby to leave (but can see the latter staying). Burns and this guy on RW feels very good for this league and I like how the squad is slowly taking shape.

Could've done with a Harry Houdini in recent seasons 😪

No chance the club is sold by the end of September unless you mean ‘27.

This allows Alves to move to his favoured left side which means we can absolutely afford to sell Mavididi and Decordova-Reid (even more than we already could).

ST: Bristric

LW: Alves, Watson

AM: Chaplin, Cullen

RW: Burns, Howell

One more striker to come in and that attack is more than fine.

Damn it! I thought for once we’d have a winger that got to the line and could put quality in off his good side. Oh well more starvation for the strikers and a blind hope that once in a while playing on the wrong side might produce a couple of worldies ala Fatawu.

Might be wrong here ,but in the 70's didn't we have the most players over £100,000 or something  like that  anyway?
