  1. 1. And your opinion is ……

    • Leicester 0–4 Oxford United (2026) - Have we hit rock bottom yet?
      141
    • Nottingham Forest 12–0 Leicester (1909) - Largest ever defeat
      15
    • Leicester 1–7 Sheffield Wednesday (1992) - League Cup humiliation
      0
    • Leicester 0–6 Leeds United (2001) - Another League Cup humiliation
      0
    • Leicester 1–6 Tottenham (2017) - We all try to forget this one!
      4
    • Porto 5–0 Leicester (2016) - English Champions getting spanked in Europe!
      0
    • Wolves 10–1 Leicester (1938) - A bizarre weird hammering I found in our records!
      0
    • Arsenal 8–0 Leicester (1934) - This one didn’t look pretty either!
      0
    • Leeds United 8–0 Leicester (1934) - We must have been really bad in 1934
      0
    • Everton 9–2 Leicester (1931) - Or just really bad pre WW2 in general.
      0
    • Harlow Town 1–0 Leicester (1980) - FA Cup defeat to non league.
      5
    • Newport County 2–1 Leicester (2019) - Horrific game, we couldn’t score, they shut the door.
      1
    • Leicester 0–5 Bolton Wanderers (2001) - I think Bolton were newly promoted and just hammered us!
      14
    • Leicester 1–2 Wycombe Wanderers (2001) - FA Cup Quarter Final, we’d been top of the league for ages. Fell off after this.
      26
    • Leicester 0–1 Shrewsbury Town (2014) - FA Cup - Pretty sure these were League 1 at the time.
      0
    • Leicester 0–5 Manchester City (1996 FA Cup) - Worst FA cup defeat, to a Manchester City side that were not owned by one of the worlds richest people.

I mentally rule out cup games. Anything can happen. See it every year. Man United losing in the 90s always cited but Palace lost to Macclesfield last year. It happens.

That said - the Forest FA cup loss was a sign and likely start of the monkey's paw curling

I don't think you can dismiss cup games. Certainly not in the case of the Forest game or indeed the Wycombe game. Both started a rot within the club that can't be be ignored, and in the case of the Wycombe game it started off a chain of events that led to administration and the club nearly going out of existence.

And besides, does it get any more embarrassing than losing at home to a lower league club, with the winning goal scored by some bloke that was hired through an advertisement on Teletext?

Don't know what I'd pick but I think that is totally fair as a choice. Losing a QF to a team multiple divisions below is bad enough, let alone when it was a striker that they picked up through the equivalent of putting an ad on X/Instagram etc. Realise form had also dropped before then but it then became central to it tanking, ultimately leading to relegation and administration

That 12-0 defeat vs Forest was horrible. Remember it like yesterday.

I blame the pitch.

Forest fans nicked my horse from outside the ground. Bad times

I absolutely see that but we had a situation years ago where Bradford made the League Cup final vs Swansea. Birmingham beating Arsenal in a final, too.

These things happen. It's rubbish on the day but stuff like Newport doesn't bother me nearly as much for that reason. Sometimes the smaller team just finds that extra 10%.

The Forest cup game exists in its own world for me due to what was going on with Brendan and the way it was handled.

Wasn't that actually the one where the team had been out to a wedding the night before and were still hung over/pissed up hence the 12-0 defeat?

Losing 0-4, at home, in the third tier. That is the worse result in our history (so far).

Cup games are one offs and are not comparable to league games. Almost every club has suffered some sort of humiliating cup result.

That Tottenham home game under Rodgers has to be up there. To be leading with 30 seconds and then to lose is unlike any I've witnessed.

Don't forget Deeney Day too, Watford fans are still buying the commemorative merchandise to this day 😂

1981 3 - 1 to Exeter in the cup on a Tuesday night was pretty bad too.

Although if I'm right we then went to Liverpool and ended something like there 86 match home unbeaten run.

Before there's always been some positives in terms of good players,  a manager who knew what he was doing, 100% effort etc

Now of course we have **** all

Because of what happened after the Wycombe game. We were about 4th in the Prem mid-March having just beaten Liverpool and Sunderland who were fifth when that happened. After the Wycombe loss we lost something like 14 in a row to end the season, then was relegated dismally for the first time in years in that last season at Filbert Street. It took 15 years to get back to that level of top half in the Prem.

With hindsight, you can easily argue that the 4-1 loss against Forest might have triggered the same.

In short, the Oxford loss is just another symptom of a collapse, not a catalyst like those other two.

Were they catalysts or just noticeable moments in time where you could identify a downturn?
I'd argue that MON leaving was a major reason (maybe the 'catalyst') for the struggles that came to the fore during and after Wycombe.

Likewise with Forest, we were already trending downwards and the issues off (FFP, Rodgers crying) and on the field were already well and truly in motion. The departures of Schmeichel, Fofana and Albrighton, combined with the additions of Faes, Souttar and Kristiansen that summer kind of broke the camel's back.

The two Steven Bergwijn goals in extra time set a new Premier League feat as Spurs were 2-1 behind at 94 minutes, 52 seconds - the latest time a team has been behind before winning a Premier League match. This was the biggest capitulation/most spectacular collapse under Rodgers and I think the most humiliating result in our recent history.

Wasn't there only 5 minutes injury time, shown on the board as well. If I remember we had a free kick on the edge of our own box with about 94 minutes on the clock & Kasper instead of launching it towards the corner hit it straight & with not much distance they broke & scored. Unbelievable, only us could manage to lose from that position.

Oh yeah I’m sure you’re right, especially under Rodgers.

We were fourth for the Wycombe game though, nine off months after O’Neill left. It probably would have gone wrong with Taylor eventually, but it was remarkable how much and how quickly that collapse was. The loss of confidence was bonkers. We literally went from challenging for Europe to barely being able to win a game.

Birmingham were a premier league team at the time.... absolutely no comparison.

we were humbled by Forest and in terms of sliding doors/butterly effect moments, as has been said, it has to be right up there. Just like we did to them with Buononotte.  Deny it as much as they like we stopped them getting CL. Deny it as much as we like. They changed the course of our history - largely, coincidentally, through Brandan being a gucci belt wearing narcissist.

I voted Wycombe the worst but Oxford comes very close. very very close.

100 per cent this result

i genuinely would of sacked Rodgers at full time

Was that before or after the 1-0 defeat in Warsaw when the journalist asked him how he felt about dropping into the Conference League and he said he didn't know about that, he hadn't read the rules. I would have shot the c*** let alone sacked him. Hadn't Warsaw lost ten games in a row or something before it too or is my fevered imagination running away with me?

Chucking what looked like certain victory away to get defeated by Spurs and Southampton has scarred us all.

I was always wary of being ahead and never that confident of pushing on when we lead, but now, we would need to be six nil up after 86 minutes for me to relax in any way about our result.
