Really frustrating that when we can create a goalscoring opportunity in 2 passes we choose to stand still and pass it back to a defender like we're already winning by 3 goals. It's frustrating isn't it. The default setting the team has is to always just "reset" the play. It makes no sense either as the whole point of the style is to try and create those kind of openings with the ball, so why not exploit it on turnovers. 2

Even at the end there, we had a few opportunities to get it forward for a last attack of the half. Instead we settled with Souttar, McCarthy etc passing it between themselves for 90 seconds. 1

I think Lundstram is a positive addition so far, Page is levels above. We are still playing that to-me, to-you rubbish at the back and it's really risky. There’s a reason for that!
theadmans Posted 12 September Posted 12 September Braybrooke getting knocked off the ball too easily. 1

We’ve not really used the right hand side so far; JJ hasn’t seen much of the ball either. 1

Paninistickers Posted 12 September Posted 12 September Did anyone see that extraordinary attempt at an overlap early on first half? He's so docile. Took him an age to realise the overlap was the right play, then came 'steaming' past Alves with all the pace of BBC's security correspondent Frank Gardener getting off a plane
Bablemikey Posted 12 September Posted 12 September Overall a much improved showing so far. However, Souttar still awful passing, Thomas still awful defending, and Cullen anonymous other than the goal. Debutants have been ok to good. Alves having a tough time against his opponent.
WigstonWanderer Posted 12 September Posted 12 September The passing around at the back always seems just a step away from disaster 1
MPH Posted 12 September Posted 12 September Looking like a wise decision turning down offers for Page. Nailed on that the offers will be higher in January and end of the season. 2
Clever Fox Posted 12 September Posted 12 September I hope Russell doesn't tell them to continue doing the same because we know Stockport won't they'll have a new plan.
BigGibbo Posted 12 September Posted 12 September Surprisingly direct for both goals in between periods of tippy tappy at the back bollocks. The more direct we are the more of a threat we are. Hopefully the first signs of life in the brains of a few of those at the club. 🙏 1

DJ Barry Hammond Posted 12 September Posted 12 September Did he really manage to throw it straight out of play?
