Not commenting on Smallbones ability at all but purely depth wise this does make sense. 4 options for 2 defensive midfield spots, 3/4 options for the ten with a couple of those being able to play in attack. We think this is bloated because we haven’t had actual depth in a significant amount of time, we should have multiple players able to start in each position

With only 7 subs it makes it very difficult to justify that many options.

To be fair he was excellent for Brussell in 23/24. Was their most impressive player in the few games I remember watching. Not done owt since though, but would be keen ro know if he was any good when on loan at Stoke back in 22/23.

Is it over optimistic for us to think we might rest and rotate players to allow us to have real intensity. (Like all the teams we play against seem to have)

Southampton fans are stunned he's ended up in league one.

But but I know the Foxestalk rule of thumb, if another clubs fans think a player is crap then it means everything, and if they think he's good it means nothing

All the hallmarks of a standard Leicester City signing.

  1. He will be one of the highest paid players in the division.
  2. He will be completely useless when the current manager is eventually sacked.
  3. Former Southampton.
  4. He will take game time from our most valuable player.
  5. He is coming off the back of a serious injury.
  6. His former club's fans don't rate him.
  7. "He'll be good for League 1".
  8. Free transfer so the agents will almost certainly be taking a huge cut.

So yeah. Will probably have games where he looks decent but I don't think he will be a net positive here.

He probably has got alopecia pal and as a fellow follicly challenged man I sympathise with him

So does the Golden God. Bald man who looks better for it.
Sure I saw a photo of him (Smallbone, not Golden God) with a lovely comb over this summer

Let’s be about right, if he’s fit? He’ll piss this level.

Exactly what we said about Faes, Soumare, Thomas, Ayew, Okoli, Skipp, Daka, Winks, Mavididi and Souttar when dropping down divisions. How many pissed it?

Most predictable signing ever. Amazed it nevet happened in the summer tbh.

Because he doesn’t want to be here and we simply offered more than everyone else. Standard Rudkin playbook .

as soon as he couldn’t find a better option he’s taking the money

On a free, 26, proven top championship player although he has stalled. It’s good business objectively. Let’s see though, i always feel Martins teams are full of lightweight players and it’s just another one.

One thing he isn't is a top championship player. Wonder why no one else wanted him on a free.

I work with a Stoke fan, I’ll ask him tomorrow.

I mean seriously don't we learn??  We're skint, play hardball on the money or contract length, and jury is out as he is from Southampton and look how well that has gone over the last 5 years.

Have we actually had a good one that has played for them previously, since KP owned the club?

The guy is desperate, 2 years max, make him earn it, most of us get a 6 month probation!!!!

3 years hmmmm???

Thomas

Hamza

Vestergaard

they all went very well

Even if it works somewhat, how can he deserve 3 years currently???
