This but Doyle for Chaplin. Neither of the Ipswich retirement double act will contribute anything this season.

Sooner save Doyle for the weekend. Wigan should be a straightforward win.

Not usually one to go into detail pre match nowadays, mainly because I can’t be arsed to analyse Martin ball, but after recent games, I think it’s been clear as day what needs to change.

If he persists with this new formation, then this game is perfect to give Kangasniemi a shot at LCB. With what we’ve also seen, we currently have a conundrum at wing-back, personally I feel we need dynamism on both sides. Even though it’s not his natural position, I think Alves has given us that in recent games, Luke Thomas on the other hand, despite contributing against Bromley, isn’t dynamic enough to be a regular wing-back. Joseph, McFarlane and Alves should be the top three options if we persist with wing-backs.

The most encouraging sign from this formation is what Braybrooke and Doyle have given us, their off the ball runs have caused havoc at times in recent games. In their positions though, we’ve got numerous options to rotate, I wouldn’t be surprised if Cullen, Chaplin or both start against Wigan.

And finally, I bloody hope he puts Bristric on the bench instead of BDCR, that constant decision is infuriating.

Because of injuries and suspensions, hopefully we get something like this…

McCarthy

O’Hora - Souttar - Kangasniemi

Alves - Smallbone - Page - McFarlane(If fit)

Chaplin - Braybrooke

Riis

Bench - Ravizzoli, Aluko, Thomas, Doyle, Cullen, Howell, Bristric

Its like so many players are picked on reputation, his Ipswich & Swansea purchases, they ain't really performing and 7 on the bench is cut throat & we have a 10pt gap to close sooner rather than later.

Does BDCR get picked coz he played in the Premier League for Fulham and was bought by us in the PL, so he must be good?? Evidence proves the opposite.

No, like Okoli, Thomas, Choudry, Vestergaard, Skipp, he has never ripped  it up consistently across a tranche of games at every level he drops to.

Bristic is a striker, maybe some of the future, has to be the forward on the bench AND if Bobby had finished the chances he had in the 1st 4-6 games, we would been close to a play off spot, not mid table.

Guys a schoolground player.

You are joking, when was the last time we had a straight forward home victory. Many would have thought Burton and Peterborough should have been straight forward.

If we can't get past Wigan at home then Martin will be sacked and the new manager (probably Andy King) gets a fresh team for Saturday.

Id rather not waste the space with Thomas, Okoli, Burns, Reid  get some of the young lads in there. The best performers so far have been the young lads. None of the senior pros have really delivered good performances.

With Wigan likely only bringing around 750 I Don’t think there will be anymore than 18,500 through the doors for this game.

If that, however the official attendance will be 27,500 🤣

Was gonna type mine out but you’ve done it for me. Could see Burns for Alves/Cullen for Braybrooke or Page just for the amount of ground they cover every game, it would really be damaging if one of them picked up a niggly injury from fatigue

Should we, with the biggest budget and best paid squad, be comfortably beating a side bottom of the league in the third tier? Yes of course.

But reality is a very different thing and I am doubtful a win is even the most likely of the 3 outcomes, let alone a comfortable win.

We're going to make this game a lot harder for ourselves by giving bang out of form players like Burns, Smallbone and Chaplin starts.

My son reminded that Smallbone played on Saturday. The only reason I remembered was because he got kicked in the head.

Then two weeks of Andy King standing around like a chav at a bus stop doing exactly the same as when previous managers.

He is another of the yes men frauds that seem unable to do their job,

Almost like he isn’t a manager and doesn’t want to be a manager.

It’ll be Hourihane when Martin eventually gets sacked

Just another low value employee. He is sat on the bench in the managers ear and on the training ground for a few seasons now.  He must have some valued input, either what they want to hear or contributing to by letting the rot continue with or without his understanding of the issues.

Are people still clinging to the cope that all his job is to make sure the kids at training have got their packed lunches and don’t wear shirts with a sponsor on it.

He is a small part of the rotten KP machine, but importantly one that is with the players everyday and was a player.
